We can drop in whenever we want...but I've never done it! I don't want to disrupt any nap times or activities!

My mom will be primary caretaker and my cousin got us a samsung monitor that we can access from our phones!

I'm a sahm. But dh is a working parent. Normally he doesn't see lo, but once in a while we'll stop by his work to show her off and go to lunch with him.

Nope. I work about 25 minutes away (an hour during commute). DH usually does pick up but sometimes I will leave work early so I can do it.

DH is a SAHD, so I'll come home for lunch and see them most days. We only live 3 miles from my work. Sometimes they'll meet me in the parking lot and we'll grab lunch out too. It's so nice to see them in the middle of my work day!

Nope - they don't do streaming video and I work downtown whereas the daycare is around the corner from our house (roughly 30 min commute). But, on Tuesdays I can facetime with my mom while she's watching him!

The provider we picked doesn't have streaming video, and we'll be 35 minutes away from her so no pop ins either.

My day care doesn't do video. I don't stop by during the day because it makes the kids really upset to see me leave. I used to wish I could see them over video, but I had a friend at work who had her kids' video going constantly. It seemed more nerve racking having it available at all times. Not to mention kind of unprofessional tha she had it on continually.

No video and frankly, I wouldn't want it, at least once you reach the toddler stage. I think about dropping in every once in a while but I know that DD will just think it is time to leave and cry when I tell her it's not.

Nope, daycare is near home and I work 45 minutes away, and no streaming video. I think it's probably for the best, I would be obsessed with watching if we did have video!

Yes.I teach GA Pre-K at a daycare and she goes to the same one. (discount!lol) I can look through the door at her anytime. Going to be an adjustment when she goes to school and I feel comfortable with a job away from her.

DH keeps DS a lot of days since he works nights 6 on/3 off and they come visit me for lunch

Now that LO has switched daycares I can see him whenever I want. The daycare has cameras in the room. I LOVE it!!

I can't. Daycare's near our house (30 minutes from work) and they don't have cameras. I WISH I could see him!

My husband will be able to pop in (daycare shares a parking lot with his office), but I won't be able to since I work downtown and would spend most of my time driving.

There aren't cameras, but the daycare is only 15 mins from my work. I haven't been able to go by yet because I do homework + pump on my lunch break, but I hope I can get to it soon!! I mostly just don't want to disrupt her if she's napping
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
No I technically could go visit at lunch but they discourage it because then LO has to say goodbye to us twice in one day, disrupts their schedule, etc. (Obviously I can if I want to, but she said especially as separation anxiety sets in, it's often hard on the kids).

@Andrea: Agree! I wouldn't drop in because he would have a shizfit when I leave. I do sometimes drop in and sneak a peek through the observation window (one-way mirrored window). It's fun snooping in on them. But I wouldn't let him see me. No way.

Nope! DH and I work an hour away from daycare and they don't have cameras setup. I wish visit him during lunch though!

My schedule is crazy trains right now and DH is doing the SAHD thing for awhile, so I get to see E a lot right now. It will change once my schedule picks up, but not working a 9 to 5 is pretty awesome sometimes.

I could since day care is 10 mins away but I don't take a lunch break since I feel bad cause pumping takes so much time.
