@babyjmama: agreed. And I feel like if you compared the free money you're getting via PTO it's more than 3%! So either way you make out by taking PTO.

I get 3 weeks vaca, 1 week sick, 1 week for CE and I would still pick PTO! I want to work somewhere where I get like 8 weeks of vaca. Does that exist? !?!

PTO no question. I'd happily take a week of UTO (unpaid time off) to have more time with LO.

I vote 3% because I get plenty of time off- accrue 11 hours of PTO every pay period (2 weeks).

PTO definitely! But like other PPers said... if the % was higher... I might pick the % Like 10+%

PTO ends up being more than the 3% raise. so definitely PTO!
ETA: i work for myself, so it would be awesome if *someone* paid me NOT to work! ha.

I think I'd take the raise. I already get 5.5 weeks paid vacation and 4 weeks of paid sick leave, so I don't feel like I need more time off. I can always use more money though!

Thanks for all the responses! I love hearing the different reasons people would take either one!

Time off for sure!!! I only get major holidays off paid, so that's 6/7 days a year. Any paid sick/vacation time would be great!

PTO for me. And as a side note, I wish I just had PTO instead of separate sick and vacation days. Right now I get 10 vacation days, three personal days (which are pretty much vacation), and a week of sick days. I'm NEVER sick, so it seems like such a waste and also just encourages me to call in "sick" when I need a mental health day or something.

I just asked for extra "flex" days at my annual review. I got 2 a month! Score! But my boss probably banked on my over achieving and controlling attitude getting in the way of my flex days.

It depends how much PTO you get. Money is tighter than it was before for us and I just got a 3.3% raise. It really helps cushion the month to month budget I have upwards of 20 PTO days plus 5 daysI carried over so it is hard getting it all in sometimes.

%3 because I have a lot of PTO accrued but work is always so crazy that we never get to take too much time off.

@locavore_mama: that's the only good perk. I'm a psychotherapist on a team that treats chronically mentally ill and homeless. Not glamorous that's for sure. I love our PTO policy.
