i voted DS1 mostly because i would want the youngest closest to your door in case of nighttime wake ups, which looks like it means bedrom #2, and bonus that it seems like that would let the other 2 stay where they are?

also as an apartment dweller let me just say your floor plan looks so nice & spacious

I’d have the baby in the room closest to you.

Or if you wanted to keep a room as a spare room I’d eventually put the two boys together in the biggest room and DD in the next biggest and have the smallest as the guest room.

@ALV91711: I agree with this! I would love to room share and have an extra room. We have more kids than bedrooms so we have to share but we are always talking about what we’d do with another room - playroom, office space, guest bed, etc.

Also on closets - especially at young ages I don’t think closets have to be used 1/kid. Like each kid’s room can have their “in use” stuff but kids with bigger closets can take storage or off season from other kids. And you can always supplement with something like an ikea wardrobe if more hanging space is needed down the road.

Not sure which kid is where now, but I would give the girl the room close to you, boys get a little mini door in their closets to go back and forth in a little sneaky spot. They have some cool ones on Pinterest. Then it doesn’t matter who has the bigger one.

Open up the closet wall between Rooms 2 & 4 to make a closet/secret hideout. I have 2 boys close in age and they would love it!

Alternatively I would have the boys share room 3. Put the baby stuff in the currently empty room until they are ready to share.
