I would trust your instincts. If you're worrying that this is something, then look into it. I would, based on what you're describing. Worst case it's nothing and you've wasted some time. But if it is something, best to be aware early.

I agree with others that you should get it checked if it worries you - but I just wanted to add that my LO used to be SO into rubbing his feet on stuff, like different textures etc, or just on whatever surface he was sat/laid on. It was just a quirk of his and he grew out of it, I think perhaps around when he started walking? Hope it's nothing for your LO

@mrswin: Yeah, my first thought was that it's a self soothing thing, but then I read on and understand it is not. My daughter rubs her feet together and kicks a lot. She probably would be annoyed if I tried to stop it.

It sounds like you could benefit from finding a new doctor. I would hate for m concerns to be easily dismissed like that. I'll be watching for a follow up to see what you find out!

@mrswin: I'm not sure if my son has done this as much as yours, but Logan used to rub his legs together a lot or just kick a lot, especially when he was tired, but it definitely wasn't soothing to him and seemed to make him more agitated. I also wondered if maybe it was a low iron issue or something. I don't think he did it as much as you describe with your daughter though. But now he's 12 months and hasn't done it in a while, so... maybe he grew out of it? Or maybe because he's eating solids more regularly (especially ones with meat), he's getting the iron he was lacking previous? Whatever the case, hopefully you'll see an improvement with your daughter soon.
