We're test driving a new car tomorrow! Its..... AWESOME! And HUGE!!! We have to replace my car because it's on it's way out and have been offered a really good deal on a brand new SUV crossover with heated seats and tinted windows and - it's enormous!!!!
We're not poor by any stretch of the imagination but we are positively destitute compared to my inlaws who throw money at us left right and centre to "make our lives easier". In the last year they have bought us a new tumble dryer (we had one already might I add but it wasn't energy efficient enough by their standards), a dishwasher, they have given DH their old car (he had a car but it was on it's last legs) and have offered to look after E three days per week to save us nursery fees.
I'm going to be really nervous - and maybe even a little embarrassed - if we decide to buy this car which is, let's face it, an extravagance. They're frugal people who buy things second hand and "make do". I mean, they have even offered (we refused) to lend us the money to pay our car insurance up front so we don't have to pay interest on a monthly pay plan........ then we rock up in this bad boy!
We've checked with our insurers, we've checked our budget - we can absolutely afford it. But.....
Would you be uncomfortable??!
