I would! I was very careful in choosing my bridal party. All 3 girls were and still are very close to me. We all grew up together! My husband would also keep the same groomsmen.

yes! i'm still close to all 6 of them... DH would also keep his same 6 guys.

No. I would reduce the number or replace at least two of them. I think the DH would keep the ones he had.
papaya / 10343 posts
No. One of the girls I am not very close to anymore, and I've since made some other friends I am closer to.
bananas / 9899 posts
Maybe one wouldn't be there as I don't see her much anymore... also my sister was supposed to be a bridesmaid but backed out just 4 days before. One of my other friends whom I am not super close to stood in. I would rather have just my 2 sisters and my SIL.

I only had 3, and I'd use 2 of them, but the 3rd would still be invited to the wedding. We're just not as close since she moved to another state, but I still care for her greatly. I'd have a few other friend's now that I might replace her with.

Yep. I just had my best friend and DH's best friend on my side. He had his two closest friends on his side. I'm super close with my bestie years later. We're both close with his best friend. On DH's side, we haven't seen the guys much lately. One of them is a father of two and doing an MBA program, so super busy. I miss his family even though they're in the burbs. The other one we see occasionally, but not enough. We had a great wedding party.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
No. I'm not as close to the girl I had as my maid of honor and there are other girls I'd like to include now!
pomegranate / 3003 posts
We rescheduled our wedding, and basically did away with a traditional bridal party, in favor of a very intimate wedding. If I had a chance at a do-over, I would likely keep the same maids.
honeydew / 7091 posts
Yep! I would like to add my SIL now though...
DH would keep his as well
We only got married 3 years ago though, so it hasn't been *that* long ago

Yep! I had a pretty big bridal party - 7 ladies - and would keep every one 5 years later. Four were my childhood best friends, we are still close (though we live far apart). They have become my sisters and we've been friends as a collective of 5 for over 20 years now (and we're all under 30!). The other three were my DH's sister, my brothers long-time lady, and the little sister of DH's very close family friends (the two sons of the family were both DH's groomsmen). It was big, but it was perfect.

I would keep each one of my 7 ladies. DH would definitely lose his best man who is now his ex-bro-in-law.
eggplant / 11824 posts
No; I only had 1 friend stand with me and unfortunately she went completely off-the-deep-end-nuts after my wedding and we no longer speak.

I would replace one, and regretted it close to the wedding too. I'm so much closer with a different friend than the one I chose but felt like I "had to have" her. But oh well!
pomegranate / 3401 posts
I totally would. It was my sister, my bf from childhood, bf from hs, and bf from adulthood. still close with every single one of them!
persimmon / 1361 posts
Yes, my 3 sisters, sister-in-law, and 2 very close friends. I've only been married 3 years, but I think it would be the same, even 10 years from now.

Sadly, not my MOH. She was engaged to SO's BFF (who's like family to us--and my IL's) and he got us when they split. We still talk to her, but I wouldn't feel comfortable with her in my wedding party today.
The other two, though, yes. My stepsister and my long-time BFF.
I think DH would change his BM and maybe another GM, and just have both of his brothers instead of just one.
grapefruit / 4582 posts
No. I would change my MOH to my sister and one girl stopped talking to me and ended the friendship after the wedding because she said I didn't "spend enough time with her" during my wedding.
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
Nope. I wouldn't have 2 of them (out of 5). Both were close friends for years, but not really anymore. With one of them, we just grew apart. The other one really just has no interest in speaking to me at all anymore. We got married 2.5 years ago and I've seen her 3 times since then. We live in the same town and were best friends on and off from first grade to high school. She's still very much into drinking/partying/being single and I'm obviously not.

@luckypenny: Are you serious? What in the world. That was YOUR day, not hers. UGH.
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
Yes - I had my 3 sisters and my childhood/current BFF who just so happens to be my SIL
hostess / eggplant / 11068 posts
Nope! One of my two is no longer a friend in my life, sadly. But DH would keep his two the same!
honeydew / 7283 posts
Probably not. I'm just not very close with two of the girls anymore. I would keep my MOH (sister) and my cousin, and probably add one of my SILs.
nectarine / 2163 posts
yup! i just had my 2 sisters. I think DH would keep his two as well, except for the fact that one of them lives on the other side of the world now
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@char54: that used to be my dream (for my BFF to be my SIL!)
I totally would, because it was all of our siblings and my BFF since I was 7. We still talk every day, she's basically my sister.
persimmon / 1128 posts
I had 3 {sister, BF, and a childhood friend of DHs} - and I would keep all of them.
grapefruit / 4582 posts
@banana: oh yeah. It was obvious the problem was her not me. I even picked her up from airport, st next to her at rehearsal dinner, wrote my vows with her, took her to salon with me AM of wedding to get nails done, and danced all night with her. Not sure what else I could have done.
She was my best friend though. It made me very sad
watermelon / 14467 posts
Absolutely; I'm still close with my two friends (we've been friends for 10 years), my sister, and my cousin. My husband would keep his too.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
Yes, it was my sister, my two SIL's and my best friend.
There was someone who I asked to step down as my bridesmaid and I'm glad I did.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
No, I would drop one handful of crazy that I'm not friends with anymore
