A good friend of ours is battling a very serious health condition. Her and her husband have two young children with no family close by. So my husband and I decided that we will help them out by providing them with their evening meals every thursday. We just made a big pot of beef stew tonight and my husband will bring a portion of that for them to work tomorrow (our husbands work at the same company). Another friend of ours is making their meal for monday. Out of curiosity, my husband asked me if I knew what they were making for them. I told him they were making a korean dish. My husband's eyes lit up (he loves korean food and so do I) and jokingly said that maybe they could make enough for us as well. And then I jokingly said that he should organize a regular dinner swap with a few families from his work so we don't have to cook as often during the week.
But joking aside, I was intrigued about that concept so I went to trusty google and found that there is such a thing as "cooking co-ops". Two or more households/individuals would cook extra portions of whatever dishes they agree to make and then meal swap with each other. Here's an article that describes it in more detail:

I might actually ask my friend if she's interested in trying it since we'll be making extra portions once a week now anyway. Meal planning stresses me out the most during the week so it's nice to have even one less day to think about.
