When you are trying to lose weight...is it easier for you to cut out all unhealthy food or just exercise a few times a week?
I go in phases and right now I prefer exercise and unhealthy food in moderation!

I can put in work at the gym like nobody's business, but when it comes to diet: no way.
People say it's 50/50 but I've seen excellent results with 75/25 (excesize/diet respectively).

If my goal was losing serious weight, diet is faster. But if you aren't very overweight, I think exercise is healthier overall (assuming you aren't eating McDonald's on the way home from your workout every time).
That said, right now I do neither I try to eat healthy but I have such a sweet tooth ever since being pregnant, and the only exercise I do is walking with the baby. Luckily breastfeeding keeps the weight off for now, but I can't do that forever and I could use some serious toning.

I try and balance things. I eat healthy most of the time and allow 1-2 cheat meals a week. I find without those cheat meals I lose motivation quickly.
I also exercise for an hour 3-4 times a week.
Think about it this way : if you exercise for an hour 4 times a week that is still a very small percentage of your life. Diet has a much bigger inpact on your health overall (but both is important).

For me, its way easier to control my diet than to exercise. However, I need to get some exercise in there too. I might be a little more flexible with my diet once I start exercising.

It's easier for me to completely revamp my kitchen and keep only healthy foods in it. I try and get some exercise too but diet is easier to control.

It's easier for me to control my diet. I'm already eating anyways. Exercise takes a little more extra effort.

I have a great diet (vegetarian, no sweet tooth, don't like soda, etc) but I know if I want to stay fit/toned I have to get off my butt. I'm so not motivated.
If I want to lose a few quick pounds I cut out dairy.

All around, I prefer an everything-in-moderation approach. I add an extra workout (or ramp up the time/effort of the other) and try and cut down the portion size of anything that's a treat. I think it's the most sustainable approach for me.

Moderation-I have past issues with diet and exercise extremes, so I try to strike a balance. Right now, though, I'm BF so I'm not doing either. Once I wean and the weight gain begins, I'll take things a bit more seriously.

They say that they only say diet is what you should look at first because it is easier to control. (You still have to eat if you are very busy for example.)

I prefer exercise, but find you really have to do both to a certain degree to get real results!

Exercise. I dont eat terribly unhealthy so for me getting back into exercising regularly has a much bigger impact.

I used to be really good about watching what I eat AND working out... Then I just worked out and kind of watched my diet and I could tell a big difference in how I looked. Now, I'm going back to watching what I eat, with a little working out.

I think it's easier to cut out unhealthy food! I generally don't make it a priority to make time to work out.

Cutting unhealthy food/the amount of food I eat in general. I am hopeless at regular exercise and have always lost weight by doing the former.

I prefer to watch what I eat but I know I have to exercise too
I use to be able to eat whatever I wanted and not exercise ... Then as I got older I had to either eat healthy OR exercise and now at 38 I have to do both - blah!!

For me, diet makes the most difference and I totally believe the saying that you can't out exercise a bad diet!

Diet for me. I've lost most of my weight that way. I consider chasing around my toddler as exercise. In the spring/summer, it's even easier because we do a ton of walking around in the park and neighborhood.
