I think I would rather have a nanny, so that I have time to cook, clean, do projects, run errands etc.
I kind of like cooking and don't mind it.
how about you?

A cook. I like cooking, but I'd rather have more time to spend with my children.
But I'd really love a housekeeper!

Definitely a cook so they can always do healthy meals every night.

Definitely a cook - does it come with clean-up after? I love cooking but the huge mess it makes deters me from cooking many nights.

I know it's not one of your options, but i'd rather have a housekeeper! I like to cook, but hate to clean up after. Once we have a kiddo, I am guessing that I'll have a hard time leaving them and would get jealous of someone spending more time with them than me (I'm a nanny, lol). But if someone could keep up with the cleaning and laundry so I could take care of kids & cook, I'd be thrilled!

cook, hands down...as i unfortunatley wasnt blessed in that department.

I said neither-- I want a housekeeper. I love to cook and wouldn't want a nanny if I could be home, so I'd rather someone to clean up after me for both! I am much better with cooking and with kids than I am at cleaning.

But... of those options, I'd rather have a cook because honestly wiht a nanny--I still have to feed him, and that's the hardest part. Also I don;t want someone constantly bugging me, or someone that I have to compete with so I can hold him.

I can't trust another person to take care of my boy yet, so a cook for me!

@marriedandlovingit: oh, my nanny would be more of a mothers helper lol - I'd probably still be here doing things

@Coco Bee: You used to nanny, if I recall correctly? I know there was someone here that is. I used to nanny before our son, so I'm wondering if that may factor in to the trust issues lol

If the cook also washed the dishes/cleaned the kitchen, then cook, definitely.

@marriedandlovingit: yup! and I still am actually! I started back up with them about two weeks ago and it's going well! We're only doing one day a week for now (I used to do three days before).
Personally, from my experience as a nanny, I wish I had the mony to invest in one. The relationships I have had with my nanny kids are incredible - different than a parent, but a special bond. Often it was my job to back up the parents, the kids would ask me something and it was an opportunity for me to instill respect for their parents in their kids. It's another adult-figure, but not a parent so the relationship was so different. And I would love to have someone to invest in my son's life who would be a good role model and friend to him.

A nanny! I love to cook, and I miss is desperately. I love my baby, but having someone to take her off of my hands for part of the day would be good for both me and baby.

@skibobrown: that's my thinking too. I spend over 12 hours a day by myself, just baby and me since the hubs work long days during the week. It's lonely, and frustrating and by Friday I am so tired and ready for him to just take the baby for the weekend. I don't like feeling like this every week, it'd be nice for breaks in the week too.

I'd rather have a cook. I really used to like cooking, but since LO, I've lost interest in it. Or maybe it's that I don't have time now?

COOK! I think I can and would want the extra time with LO.
I'm a good cook, but I'm already dreading cooking right now just for the two of us, most nights after work.
