World Pride is happening on my doorstep at the moment and I'm dying to take LO but, because there is usually so much nudity and objects flying into the crowd during the parade, we probably won't.
I just looked into it though and there is a family friendly area that I'm thinking of taking her to, with reading and games etc. Maybe she's too young to get much out of it, I don't know.
Would you take your LO?

Sure! Not in a rowdy area, but the pride parade here in NYC has lots of colorful floats, costumes, etc that I bet LO would enjoy seeing.

Yes! We used to live in Boystown in Chicago before moving abroad and one of the things I miss most is Pride Parade Weekend. If we still lived there, I would definitely take my LOs to it.

Nope, we used to live right on the parade route, and it was a nightmare. All of the drunkenness and nudity just don't seem kid-friendly, whatever the cause!

We did last year. We saw the parade and watched it for awhile and then walked through an event area. We missed it this year, although someone did give us a rainbow flag.

@californiadreams: I think it's Sunday for a couple of hours... It's on Bloor, Church.... Not sure about Yonge. It's so much fun!

I'm thinking we may do some of the family stuff. Too much exposed junk at the parade for DD.

I find the beginning of the parade is more child friendly than the end of the parade. With that said, I totally want to take my kids to Pride next year! It's SF pride this weekend and I am way too pregnant to go.

Not in a jam-packed crowd scene area, but definitely, LO would love the crazy costumes and the music.

DD is done daycare as of tomorrow, and I will have the two of them from there on in, but I'm up for attempting to come into the city!! I would die seeing the girls together, though mine would likely be in a corner playing like a loner!!

Yes, I would. Here in the UK it's pretty family friendly (if you ignore the giant inflatable penises and half naked men!). It's only later in the day that the drunken tomfoolery happens. I think that E would love the parade!

Definitely! We usually go, but missed it this year since I wasn't ready to wrangle a toddler and a two week old by myself just yet (ours is in April).
