I don't think what's so bad about Hooters is the outfits. What's bad to me is that they only hire girls that fit a certain body type. And then the required uniform is meant to show that off. The same amount of skin/tight clothing out in public? Sure, I'm not going to shield DS's eyes. But I'm also not going to support an establishment that hires skinny girls with big boobs in order to exploit their looks.

I certainly would, if I had a reason to go to one. What's the problem, really? The low cut outfits? I'm teaching my daughter that women have value no matter what they wear, so I don't take issue with her seeing women in skimpy clothing.

@sarac: totally agree with teaching children that women have value regardless of what they are wearing, but for me, the issue is supporting a business which seems to value women only because of what they are(n't) wearing - even if that once scandelous outfit is now rather tame.

@Madison43: Yeah, that's why I'd personally not go. But that's different than why I would/wouldn't take my daughter.

Never been to Hooters, Tilted Kilt, or Twin Peaks but I like sports bars. I'll probably bring bring my kids to a local sports bar if there's a game on and we feel like getting out. Just an occasional outing. My parents brought me and my siblings when they wanted to grab a beer and watch the game. We kids got sodas and junk food so we were happy.

We have several of those types of chains here and I've gone (and even taken LO once) with friends to watch a big game or for happy hour after work. I wouldn't ever go there just with our family, because honestly it makes me uncomfortable, but I also know that it has more to do with my insecurities than anything else.

@ShootingStar: I feel like you articulated better what I was thinking. So yes, this.
Also, regardless of the outfits and seeing skimpier things out there- um... The name is Hooters. You can't pretend it's not at least a little bit about the tight shirts and emphasizing boobs when the name is another word for boobs. (Never heard of tilted kilt or twin peaks until this thread).
But I admit I've never been in one.
