My daughter (27 months) randomly threw up at school this morning, so I picked her up and brought her home. We watched a movie, then I put her down for a nap around 1pm. It's now 4pm and she is still sleeping and it's getting dark out. She wasn't sick at home at all, so I think the puking was just a fluke.

I would let her sleep as long as possible. Maybe it is just a short virus!

I would and then put her down early if she still seems tired. But my kid would nap all day and party all night if I let him.

No. I never wake her up unless we have to be somewhere! If she's potentially sick, I let her sleep it off, too.
My kid is good about napping late and going to bed at her normal bedtime, though...

Does she normally sleep in like this? If not, I'd assume she needs the extra sleep.

@pui: No it's usually a struggle to even get an hour nap out of her!
I think I'll let her sleep and just deal with it if bedtime is harder / later than usual. Thanks all!

I went in around 6:30 and asked if she wanted dinner, she was super happy and energetic / totally fine. We pushed bedtime back to 8 (usually 7) and she went done without a fight. I guess she just ended some extra sleep.
