Has anyone's LO (girl or boy, but Liv is a girl) had a yeast infection? Liv has only had one diaper rash in her life, but last week had one just on her front. It became red and raised, and when traditional rash treatements didnt work, I thought it might be yeast. We were on vacation, so I bought a tube of the cream (pedi's recommendation) and it cleared up the front rash within 2-3 days. Now its looking like she has it in her little thigh creases up top. Ill keep putting the cream on, but is there anything else I can do for it? It doesnt seem to be bothering her at all, I just want to make it go away

Yes, we fought it for a long time. We used a lot of vinegar for wiping instead of wipes. And we kept putting cream on. We also let him run around naked to dry it all out.

@brownie: I was wondering if vinegar would work. Did you use straight or diluted?

Also, make sure the area stays as dry as possible. Maybe you can use a little baby powder on her thighs.

We had one yeast infection (also in the mouth) about two weeks post antibiotics. The key for us to getting over it was to not stop the cream when the infection cleared. Continue the cream for at least an additional 5 days.

Agree with @Mamag, the key for us was continuing to use the cream for several days once symptoms were gone, I think.

Careful with baby powder! Some powders actually feed the yeast and make it worse.

I always recommend angel baby bottom balm. its truly great for all kinds of rashes and skin problems.

We just dealt with this too. We were told to keep treating it with the cream after it disappears for about a week. LO got some on her one leg too and for some reason that has been disappearing much more slowly. And we were told no baby powder. I tried a few other things - I used very dilute apple cider vinegar and witch hazel as her diaper spray. I'm not sure if this did much or not. And I tried yogurt in her diaper (the organic, sugar free, fancy kind) and then changed her after an hour. This one seemed to work, she itched a lot less and the redness went way down.

I was going to suggest keeping the area as dry as possible (hard with diapers). Ty got a little yeast in his neck (where milk sometimes collects) last week on vacation because it was SO hot. We just cleaned with washclothes and kept very dry and it cleared in a few days.

Cornstarch is good for keeping areas dry, but I don't like to use it in the diapering areas.

@Mrsbells: I use that stuff with every diaper change, and even that wasnt touching this! It surprised me. I recommend that stuff to EVERYBODY. No joke, I have 6 of them in her drawer lol.
@Maysprout: What sort of yogurt? Like just plain, no sugar, probiotic?? Livs doesnt seem to be itching her (thank goodness) or making her uncomfortable but I still want to try
@Nskillet: @Maysprout: what about cornstarch in the leg creases? I dont want to put it in her diaper but is that bad for the leg folds like baby powder would be?

We've had good results with virgin coconut oil.

Yep, DD got one and we were told to use athlete foot cream (sorry can't remember which one). It was only on the front and in the leg creases sort of like you described. Went away very quickly after starting the cream.

@LivsMama: I just used the stoneyfield organic plain yogurt.
I don't know about corn starch, googling it though there seems to be some negatives about using it on a yeast rash.
