Spain...and I will stay and not come back this time
We still talk about spending a few years there after I finish my admin credentials, and before I look for my first admin job. I currently have my dream teaching job, and if I ever leave it I probably won't get it back.

@Greentea: Wait, is this for realz? You should seriously look into Spain! I lived in Santander (northern coastal city) for 3 months, and it is so beautiful and family friendly. The culture there is so focused on families and with four weeks you could truly see the whole, diverse, beautiful country. I can't give you any practical reasons why its better than anywhere else in the world, it has just captured a part of my soul and I want to live vicariously through you

@owlteach: yup, hopefully for reals. Just in a few years, but I like thinking about it! Thanks for the recommendation. That sounds lovely. We are pretty laid back and not touristy at all. We just want something peaceful, beautiful, family friendly, and hopefully not stressful! I hope you get to return if you want to!

Maybe Japan - we used to live there and both miss it terribly.
Right now it would be home to NZ though, since family need to meet DD.
Not counting places we've lived, maybe Italy? We've never been and really want to. Plus it seems really kid friendly...
