I think this is great. If I was hiding from an intruder I would be scared to call 911 and have them hear me.

This is GREAT news. It makes it much more accessible for those who are Deaf, Deafened, and Hard of Hearing to contact 911.

@Grace: They say they can't triangulate like a cell call so they want you to give a location if possible. However, data should still ping off towers to allow them to triangulate, so I'm betting that they COULD and they just haven't set it up yet.
