I think I went on my first real date at 17, haha, but that was because I didn't really have any potential suitors before that.

I semi-dated before that though, in that I attended school dances and met up with boys there. But I don't think I was really allowed to date until 16. I think once your kid can drive and basically do their own thing without you, then that's when they probably can date. Honestly, I think anything younger than 16 is probably too long.

Oh man, I hope she waits until she is at least 20 to date, even though I know that’s not very realistic! I am already not looking forward to having to restrain myself from rolling my eyes so hard I get a headache when she tells me at 16 or 18 she’s found “the one” and is sooooooooooooooooo in love, and how that love will last forever and I just don’t understand because I’m old. I’m rolling my eyes now just thinking about it!

This one is tough, I guess it depends on her maturity level and what not because it seems very hipocritical to just say no you can't date until you are a certain age.

I think we'll let her go on supervised movie dates as early as 14 if she wants. Dh and I can go with. Haha. I dont think boys should ask girls on dates if theyre not making money.. Dd's gonna be used to fine dining so we'll let her go out when a boy can afford to take her out on his own dime..

We'll probably let DD start going out on dates when she's in high school, so 14/15-ish.

I'll cross that bridge when we get there. I didn't want to date until I was in high school (that's a lie- nobody asked me out before then!) so there's a chance that will happen with LO too and I won't have to worry about dating too young.

If she does want to "date" in middle school, it will only be group dating. High school or when she's 16 (have to discuss it with hubby) she's allowed on real dates.
