I'd love to get a couple for Charlie and Olive, particularly one that is about a Christmas tree.
What are some of your favorites? The only one we have is Olive the Other Reindeer, which we love!

@Mrs. Bee: we bought her 'Twas the night before Christmas last year and have started the tradition of daddy reading it on Christmas eve.
We found a version that is animated and really pretty so it should hold up well for years to come.
Looking to buy her a new one this year as well!

i'm looking for books your LO's LOVE because Olive is very picky when it comes to books. If she doesn't like it, she won't even pay attention and just demands that i read the same books over and over again... unless they have a flap! and i'm trying to move away from those type of books so that she'll focus more on the story....

The Good Little Christmas Tree is a great book, but maybe too old for her.
Mr. Willoby's Christmas tree is a good one.

Tor LOVES Fa La La by Leslie Patricelli. He makes us read it to him over and over. He also likes Elmo's night before Christmas but not quite as much.

@mrskc: I will take a picture tonight. It has holograms on every page so it looks like the images are moving. It's really very neat and a great 'keepsake' one I think.
I got it at BJs last year.

@locavore_mama: @mrskc: Is it this?
It doesn't look like this is the ani-motion version, though. We got ours as a gift a few years ago with the ani-motion.

Anyone have a suggestion for a book about The Nutcracker?

I had this one when I was small and LOVED it! You just reminded me to get it while I'm at my parents' house for Thanksgiving

I grew up loving Santa Mouse (http://amzn.com/0760703558) and Angelina's Christmas (http://amzn.com/0142411922). As an adult my favorites have become some of Max Lucado's books like The Crippled Lamb (http://amzn.com/1400318076) and Frederick Thury's The Last Straw (http://amzn.com/0881063606). Whether C will sit still long enough to listen to them is another story.

@Mrs. Bee: I think "Tree of Cranes" by Allen Say would fit the bill. I love his illustrations and this book has a solid story. Say's last name is also written "Seii", and the story reflects his Japanese heritage. I bet you'll enjoy it, we did!

Bennett really loves Dinosaur vs Santa, as do I - it's not big on words (mostly roar) but the pictures are adorable.
