What's you favorite fall scent?
Is it a plug in? Candle? From where?
I would like to buy something scented for the home but candles are out and so are plug ins really bc of LO.

CINNAMON!
I have cinnamon something for fall and winter. LOOOVE it, so homey!
Most of the time I have a Scentsy turned on. Sometimes I like candles, and every now and then our grocery store has "cinnamon brooms" and I just put one of those in a pot.

I love some pumpkin spice, or apple cinnamon! Couldn't you put a candle or warmer up on the kitchen counters? There are reed diffusers too, but that oil isn't something you want LO getting into either.

Haha! I was going to say "burning fields", but that would be a really weird plug in. I would get something Thanksgiving-y: apple pie spices or pumpkin.

I love the Leaves scent from Bath and Body Works. Since you don't want a plug-in or candle, I've seen a lot of yummy smelling homemade scent pots on Pinterest - you just brew up cinnamon, orange peels, etc on the stovetop. We always do it at Christmas!

Cinnamon, vanilla and pumpkin!
Im a Scentsy lover. I "burn" their stuff all year round. My favorite fall smells are Cinnamon Vanilla, Pumpkin Roll and one called Baked Apple Pie.

@MrsTiz: @loveisstrange: what's scentsy?
@kiddosc: yea, kitchen counter is probably the only safe surface. I would like to put something down in the family room too though.

@locavore_mama: Scentsy are warmers that use bulbs to melt scented wax. The wax is super scented and they have a really wide array of smells. I LOVE mine. I got a warmer for my mom for Christmas last year and she loves hers too.

@loveisstrange: ahhh I have something like that but not the "brand". I don't think the melted wax will be safe around LO either!

I love Pumpkin Spice, Pumpkin Pie, Leaves, anything that smells like fall I love! We light candles though.

I don't like candles either and we don't even have our LO here yet! I just light the glade candles for 30 min or so, while I'm in the area.. then I blow them out. If I do that every day for a little bit the scent really sticks around!
Pumpkin spice lover here too! Cinnamon and vanilla scents really smell great, too.

i am obsessed with cnadles in the fall. anything fall related especially! pumpkin, spice, cinnamon, apple, leaves, ANTYHING!!!!!!!!!!!
MIL stocks us with Yankee candles, love them!

@locavore_mama: You could put it on your counter or mantle, then it's raised up.. it doesn't have to be on a low table. Heck, you could put it on top of your kitchen cabinets if you wanted to! Ours is on our mantle now and plugged in behind the TV that is wall mounted, so LO would have to be like 6/7 to reach it!

@locavore_mama: I keep mine on a kitchen counter and C has never messed with it.

@locavore_mama: Another thing I do in the winter/fall are simmer pots,
http://tipnut.com/fragrant-home-13-simmering-pot-recipes/
recipe #1 is my fave. You could probably find some crock pot recipes that way you don't have something open if your LO can reach up there?

Yankee Candle's Autumn Wreath. It's the only candle that gets burned in our house from September to the end of November. It is intoxicating!!

I've never done a simmer pot, but you ladies have me really excited about trying them this fall!
I am seriously in love with burning candles, and my favorites are from Jo Malone, particularly their Pomegranate Noir scent. They do it in a room spray and diffuser, too, and it's just so warm and comforting to me

@LovelyPlum: I don't have any surfaces right now besides kitchen counters that are out of Los reach. Same for plug in, she'll want to pull them right out of the outlet. Or stick her finger in the hole wick part up top!

I use and love scentsy as well! My favorite fall scents are apple/cinnamon!
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
@MrsTiz: we opted for a mantle less fireplace. and Dh hates clutter on the counters! My only bet will be when we finally put some display shelving up!

@locavore_mama: I'm trying to help you out here!
https://scentstand.scentsy.us/Scentsy/Buy/Category/521 plug it in above your kitchen counters so it's not technically ON the counter but it's out of LO's reach? trying to cheat the system haha

I dont think I like any fall scents, most of them are food scents and I prefer not to use food scents I find they can get a bit overwhelming for me
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
@MrsTiz: haha I'm going to have to measure the clearance at the counter below (opposite) our breakfast bar to find a plug in that fits there! haha
eggplant / 11408 posts
@locavore_mama: gotcha. We usually keep ours lit on the table, but if he doesn't like clutter, I guess that's out. Though I think of a candle as a decoration, not clutter!
pineapple / 12234 posts
@locavore_mama: I have scentsy plug-in's if you want them! I had to use a lot of them in my old house but I don't really have any use for them anymore
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
@HLK208: thanks!!! Do you know how high they are off the plug? I need to see what my clearance is. Can I buy refills online?
pineapple / 12234 posts
@locavore_mama: I'll have to check when I'm home - I'll pm you. I use to buy the wax bars on amazon but I never knew what I was going to get since obviously I couldn't smell them for myself.
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@locavore_mama: do you have a Wal-mart near you? Wal-mart has wax melts! So does Pier 1 and I think maybe Hallmark..places like that. It doesn't have to be Scentsy melts, any wax melt is fine..(and cheaper!)

Currant! I absolutely love the scent! My favorite is probably the Henri Bendel candle. But the scent is pretty consistent anywhere you can find it. I just found an Archipelago one at Nordstrom Rack in a diffuser!
I also like Amber and Vanilla if it's not too strong. Most other "Fall/Winter scents are too strong for me.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
I love Pumpkin Spice from Scentsy, I have a plug in in the kitchen on the counter so LO can't get it.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@loveisstrange: i have baked apple pie in my scentsy as we speak! heaven! i've been waiting all summer
@MrsTiz: i agree. the paperwork says they void the warranty, but i'll take my chances

I also buy "tarts" or tea lights that are scented and put them on the scentsy warmer, like the yankee candle quick melt thingys. I just pull the wick and metal parts off.
