@Pirouette: gave some advice in one of the other topics I posted and it got me thinking about what to talk about with DH since LO has been the center of our attention for over a month now.
How was your first date night? What did you do? We are going to BBB and dinner at my favorite place.

Have fun! I think our first date night was for our anniversary...we mostly talked about and looked at photos of A, but she was away for the weekend too so we missed her. She was 2.5 months old.

Yay for your first date night! We went out to a movie a bit less than 2 weeks after M was born and we also took a walk around the mall. It was nice to get out of the house.

I think it was our third anniversary. It was a decent time, but DH brought up his mom wanting a solo visit. We all know how that went. After that, talking about family members at special dinners is off limits.

We went out to dinner, walked around an outdoor mall and went grocery shopping. It was glorious.

DS was born Feb 1 and he was exactly 2 weeks old on Valentine's Day when we went out to a nice dinner. We were so exhausted, and I still looked pregnant and felt awkward about ordering a drink, but it was so nice.

We went out to dinner when she was about 3 months old. Split a bottle of wine and said she could only come up once every 10 minutes. We had a blast and ended up not even really talking about her but how much she has changed us and our relationship and how we can keep it strong.

My parents came over and kicked us out to go to dinner when LO was only a week old

DH's parents came over and watched LO while we went out to dinner and a movie. He was 4 weeks old. It was so nice to get out!

we spent the first 2 hours at dinner talking about the future, things that happened before we had our baby, and some of the things we loved about each other. then when we got the check, we looked at each other and were both like "can we talk about her yet?" we were both ready to get home and hold her, but it was nice talking about grown up things for a little while we also hid our phones so that helped a lot too.

We went out a few times where my parent's watched LO but it was mostly just to get out with friends. So my husband surprised me and planned this romantic night for Valentine's day where it was just going to be me and him. Yeah, we ended up getting food poisoning. So while we got to somewhat "enjoy" the dinner, the rest of the night was horrible

We didn't have anyone to keep her that we trusted (that also didn't have a newborn), so we didn't go out until she was almost 4 months old! My parents were visiting, so DH set up a date to see Cirque du Soleil and have dinner. It was a great surprise.

We haven't had a PP date night yet and LO is 6 months 
We are planning on going out for dinner together, finally, in a couple weeks.

Our anniversary was 5 weeks after DD's birth. We went to a really nice dinner to celebrate. It was really nice. We have had 2 more date nights since then.

Our 1st date night after baby was for our 1 year anniversary when DS was about 2 weeks old. We went to dinner and kept it low key and all we did was talk about DS. But it was still nice to get out! We're lucky that we have family nearby to babysit. We take full advantage. And DS loves spending time with them.

Ours was only two weeks after DD was born, so it was really quick (she's EBF). We went to dinner at a restaurant we'd been wanting to try and my mom watched her. We sat at the bar, and I had my first post-pregnancy beer. It ended up being a bummer though because DH got food poisoning!
