Have fun! I think our first date night was for our anniversary...we mostly talked about and looked at photos of A, but she was away for the weekend too so we missed her. She was 2.5 months old.

I think it was our third anniversary. It was a decent time, but DH brought up his mom wanting a solo visit. We all know how that went. After that, talking about family members at special dinners is off limits.

DS was born Feb 1 and he was exactly 2 weeks old on Valentine's Day when we went out to a nice dinner. We were so exhausted, and I still looked pregnant and felt awkward about ordering a drink, but it was so nice.

My parents came over and kicked us out to go to dinner when LO was only a week old

we spent the first 2 hours at dinner talking about the future, things that happened before we had our baby, and some of the things we loved about each other. then when we got the check, we looked at each other and were both like "can we talk about her yet?" we were both ready to get home and hold her, but it was nice talking about grown up things for a little while we also hid our phones so that helped a lot too.

We didn't have anyone to keep her that we trusted (that also didn't have a newborn), so we didn't go out until she was almost 4 months old! My parents were visiting, so DH set up a date to see Cirque du Soleil and have dinner. It was a great surprise.

Our anniversary was 5 weeks after DD's birth. We went to a really nice dinner to celebrate. It was really nice. We have had 2 more date nights since then.

Ours was only two weeks after DD was born, so it was really quick (she's EBF). We went to dinner at a restaurant we'd been wanting to try and my mom watched her. We sat at the bar, and I had my first post-pregnancy beer. It ended up being a bummer though because DH got food poisoning!
