My LO has a baby mullet! Most of the hair on the back of her head is short because she rubs it off but the hair at the bottom is past her shoulders!
How old was your LO when they got their first haircut? Who cut it...you or a pro?

We went to a salon, at around 12 months. It started looking very bad and it was a total mess, so we just went for it. I thought about doing it myself, but I would probably make it worse!

My LO has a lot of hair and had his first haircut at 3 months. It's kinda a sore spot for me because darn MIL cut it without my permission when she was watching him.

My son's finally started thickening up after he turned 1 so we just went at 15 months to a kid's salon.

LO is only 10 months and no where close to needed a hair cut. She barely has anything there. But I do have a friend who's LO had a baby mullet, she went to a salon right before her 1st birthday to get it cut. They were coming to our wedding and I think she was embarrassed to have the baby mullet there, but I thought she was adorable!

@enjollah: OMG. I would seriously have it in for her when I saw that. I would be furious! Did she even save a lock of it?

@autumnlove: man those MILs.... I hope I don't do things to piss off my future inlaws later...
@pastemoo: I am still furious... And no she didn't save the hair. She's actually out of the country for the next few months. I'm okay but whenever I sit and think about it, some of the feelings come back.

LO hasn't had a haircut yet. She probably won't get one until she's.. a lot older.

LO didn't need a haircut until she was about 18 months. We went to a kid's salon. I would never want to cut her hair myself. My friend does her daughter's hair and it always looks....awful!!

My baby also has a mullet so I have a feeling at nearly 18 months, the first haircut is not too far off. But I don't want to!!!!! His little baby locks!!!!

I don't want to, but he's approaching a year and the hair is starting to look pretty unkempt ... so we might bite the bullet soon. I just don't want them to make him look like a big boy

We didn't cut our son's hair until he was two. I gave him all his haircuts. I like to keep his hair on the longer side so I don't cut much off each time. We haven't cut our daughters hair yet. She sports a mullet as well.

DD still hasn't had a haircut, and she'll turn two on Friday! She's just now getting to the point where I think she needs a little trim, but I'm sad to cut it off since it too her so long to grow hair, lol.

DD got her first haircut at 18m when we were visiting Disney World (it was really more of a shaping trim because she didn't have a whole lot of hair yet). The Barber Shop on Main Street does it for a pretty reasonable price, they made a big fuss about it being her first haircut, she got a pair of Mickey Ears that say "First Haircut", we got some of the hair wrapped up special and certificate stating her first haircut was at Disney along with the day it was done. They also sprinkled fairy dust (i.e. chunky glitter) on her head when done.
