You can brush with your finger and eat a piece of gum and we will go buy you a toothbrush.

Nope. I know it doesn't make sense because we kiss, but of the many things I will share, my toothbrush will never be one of them.

@.twist.: this.
Toothpaste fingers and clean washcloths are decent temporary substitutes.

I would probably let him, but we'd both be buying new toothbrushes asap.

Eeeeww. We share a lot but a toothbrush isn't one of them. You're using your finger buddy. Or, use it & I'll replace it.

No problem sharing. If we're on trips we usually just bring one.

You can brush with your finger, go buy yourself another one, and why didn't you listen to me when I asked if you packed your toothbrush?
I'm really not a germaphobe, but I draw the line at something designed to scrape plaque off of your teeth.

I would pass it to him, and then go buy myself a new one! The idea of sharing toothbrushes grosses me out for some reason, so we don't share.

Ha, we just had this situation the other day. I didn't let him use mine.

Call the front desk and get the complimentary toothbrush or go to a Walgreens/gift shop/ect. A whole trip of him using my toothbrush is not going to happen.

You better find a store or grab a wash cloth buddy...lol

Hotels will give you a new one at the desk. Otherwise, we'll head to the nearest drugstore.

Just the thought of him using my toothbrush makes me gag! lol I know it doesn't make any sense, but under no circumstances do I share my toothbrush.

@yoursilverlining: I didn't think of that, but I would do that too if he felt really desperate to use an actual toothbrush for whatever reason.

Let him use it that morning then go buy two new toothbrushes.
Gross story- one morning I noticed my toothbrush was wet. I asked Dh if he had dropped it in the sink or used it or something and he said, no, I used mine, the green one. I said, nooooooo..... Mine is the green one. Yeah. We had been using the same one for like a month. So gross. (And I blame him. The green one was mine. But now I only use pink or purple).

@BadgerMom: hah! Are you kidding! I think it makes absolute sense. Your toothbrush is used to pick out the food that you chewed up and didn't quite make it to your stomach. Not to mention bacteria build up... haha eeeeeeeew.
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
This would never happen - dh is totally disgusted by sharing my toothbrush and would rather use nothing than use mine!
persimmon / 1385 posts
@.twist.: LOLOL! Oh I totally agree! It's just that when I think about it objectively, we do kiss and stuff... But then again I try to refrain from picking food particles out of his teeth with my tongue. OMG I'm going to go throw up now.

of course this is all hypothetical, right @Mrs. Bee: ?
I'll reluctantly let him use it.

He can use it. But I'm using it first and then we are going straight to the store for my new toothbrush.
pomegranate / 3127 posts
Ewww no way. DH would just have to buy a new one. I know we kiss and stuff, but he does not need more exposure to my awful tooth germs. Which I'm pretty sure I picked up sharing toothpaste with my parents, so he doesn't get to share the toothpaste either

Ewwww, reading the comments and just thinking about it is grossing me out! We don't share - he can either go buy a new one or use his finger. The mouth is incredibly dirty and just thinking of him putting all his mouth bacteria all over my toothbrush....yeah, gross. Kissing is totally different IMO.

Ooh what a divide! I couldn't care less if he uses mine, but I hate using his because his bristles are always all mashed down and horrid.
clementine / 854 posts
I could never do it. It grosses me out just thinking about it.
DH has used mine before by mistake. I then take a new one, or if we don't have any new ones I run it through the dishwasher.
In my opinion, sharing a toothbrush is just as disgusting as sharing the same piece of dental floss.
nectarine / 2054 posts
Yuck, no way. I said "other" because he would never ask that. I think he'd just deal with unbrushed teeth until the next morning when we could get to a drugstore.
