My DH is gone 3 weeks at a time. I think it's cleaner when he's here bc he helps so much while I am busy w/LO. Like when she's done with her solids and her high chair is a disaster, I am not able to clean up her mess until after she's in bed whereas he'll do it for me as soon as I get her out of it and in the tub! Little everyday things like that really help.

Cleaner cause I get bored after R goes to sleep. So I try and get the cleaning done so we don't have to worry about it over the weekend.

Cleaner...I wouldn't cook as much and he wouldn't be going around the house, leaving things laying around.

Dirtier until the day before he gets home, then it's cleaner. lol. I tend to not clean up after C's tornado of destruction as much if he's gone.

Cleaner! It's cleaner at night when he gets home than in the morning when he leaves!

@zippylef: Ditto that:). Then like right before he comes home I blitz-clean everything so I look like the perfect wife- holding down the fort and taking care of the baby!

Cleaner, mostly because I'd use the alone time to clean! Although that was life pre-baby so maybe now it will be dirtier!

same. I have to clean before leaving the house every day so the dog doesn't eat my stuff.

That has never happened, my DH is a home-body. However, it would definitely be cleaner if he went away. I love tidying up.

The same. I do most of the cleaning and neither of us are that messy.

so much cleaner. my dh should be on the show hoarders, so when he goes away i clean like crazy and get rid of so much of his crap lol.

Dirtier! DH is SUCH a clean freak. It drives me nuts! If he were gone for a week, oh man, I'd have a field day being the slob that I am!

Well! Last weekend he went away and I had great plans to clean and get a bunch of stuff done. Then I got the flu and it was a disaster when he came home!!
He is away right now until tomorrow and I'd say it's cleaner because he isn't leaving clothes/shoes every where.. and when I'm solely in charge of the chores, I just do them instead of putting them off like he often likes to do! lol.

Definitely cleaner. Hubby is naturally messy so the house always looked cluttered.

So much cleaner. I don't have to deal with all the random stuff strewn about!

Cleaner for sure. He doesn't like chemicals so the deep cleaning always gets done when he's not around.

Dirtier for sure! DH is amazing at cleaning things & I'm the messy one. I would probably be ready to wave the white flag if he was gone for a week & I was left here with both kids! eek!

probably the same. we go through periods of being cleaner and messier, and it would probably be the same with DH gone. i would have time to clean at the end of the day after LO goes to bed though!

Oh god, it would be a tidy, organized paradise. My husband is not on board with my dreams of perfectly clean and organized home.

I don't necessarily think it would be cleaner, but it would be less cluttered.

@IRunForFun: "I don't necessarily think it would be cleaner, but it would be less cluttered." EXACTLY what I was going to write!

Dirtier cause he helps a lot with housework! Now if it were my son being gone for a week- it would be clean!

Cleaner. But not drastically. Both DW and I are reasonably organised/clean, but it's easier to keep things straight if there's only one of us in the apartment. 1.5 with LO.
