Good morning, Hive! I have my first appointment with by OB/GYN today. I saw a nurse at 7 weeks, and am now 10.5 weeks. I don't know why, but I'm so nervous! I have no idea what to expect. They did the intro paperwork, blood work, etc... last time. What happens today?

I had my first OB appt at 8 weeks and I had a dating ultrasound at that point. Since then, I have appointments every 4 weeks and they are super quick! Weight, pee in a cup, the doc comes in and asks if I am having any issues/pain/problems or if I have any questions, she reviews my weight chart and blood pressure, and then she gets out the doppler and checks baby's heartbeat. That's it! We are usually in and out in under 15 minutes including wait time.

@Mae: I'm hoping for an ultrasound - but I'm a little afraid that they won't do one until 20 weeks for some reason
Hoping it's not just a quick in and out - the Mr. is taking off of work to come!

@Mae: ummm I want to go to your doctor if it's 15min including wait time!!!! The wait time at my last appt was a nightmare

@Mrs.Ham: Even if they don't do an ultrasound, hearing the heartbeat is SO cool!! My husband opted to take off work for all my appointments just to come and hear the heartbeat
Also, in case they do do an ultrasound-- just a warning that it is generally an internal one before 12 weeks. My friends warned me about that and also to warn my husband of that because I guess some guys get a little weirded out by the dildo-cam if they aren't expecting it hahaha.

@runnerd: I know I'm lucky! My doc's office runs very on time, I love it! I was especially appreciating that yesterday because I went for my anatomy scan (which is done in another office by a tech) and I had to wait like 40 min to get in. I was like omg this suuucks haha. I was there 2.5 hrs total!

I just got back from the Dr - no ultrasound, but I got to hear the baby's heartbeat! There is no sound on earth more beautiful than that!

@Mrs.Ham: So great!! At 10 weeks my LO was still so tucked under my pelvic bone we couldn't hear her and had to do an US to make sure she was OK. Glad to hear your LO was more cooperative!

@mfa_lady: It was amazing! He warned me that we may not find it since it's still early - but there it was loud and clear. I got a little teary eyed, and am still replaying that sound in my head!
