My friend wants to use fully compostable diapers. I knew even knew they had that, but I guess they do:

Yikes, those are expensive. And who really has access to a compost pile? I do, but there's no way they'd let me dump the amount of diapers in there that we'd go through in a week. Plus, poop can't be composted, so how do you get all the poop off the diaper?

@looch: from the quick google search i did yesterday i think you need to get a service to come pick them up. so that would add to the cost. crazy!

@Andrea: I didn't even know that kind of service was offered! I was thinking of a compost pile/container in the back yard...those ones for home use aren't all that big, a weeks worth every week probably won't compost all that effectively, but what do I know!
I really wonder if it's better in the landfills, I mean, regular disposables EVENTUALLY decompose, but do these go faster?

@looch: My friend lives in an apartment so there isn't even a yard. I don't know anything else about these but I'm going to tell her cloth diapering probably makes more sense if she doesn't want to use regular disposables.

@Andrea: yeah, I agree. Good in theory, but falls apart in practice!
