Hi All! I am hoping you gals can talk me off the ledge. Ok -- maybe that is a bit -- well, a lot-- dramatic, but I don't know what happened to my decent-ish sleeper and would love your thoughts and advice. I thought things were supposed to get better at 3 months.
We have been primarily co-sleeping with our little one, but have been trying to transition him out of our bed and into the bassinet (in hopes of getting him in the crib sooner rather than later) for the past few weeks. Initially we were really successful and he was sleeping 4-5 hour stretches in the bassinet.
And now everything has gone to crap. Naps have gone from 1-2 hours to 45 min, except for his last nap of the day which was 2.5 hours yesterday. Nighttime has been a nightmare. We have been putting him down in the bassinet in our room while he is fully asleep (he won't have it any other way) and he generally wakes between 5-45 minutes later (I have even stood over him for 10 minutes rubbing his belly to make sure he's asleep). When he wakes up, he will oftentimes fall right back asleep and/or settles if we pick him up (we try to do this before he fully wakes up and before his whimpering and crying escalates), but then he is up again within 5-10 minutes or wakes up within 1-2 hours. Even today my fail proof nap location (the ergo) only got 45 minutes. I should add that we are trying to rock/sway/bounce him back to sleep first and then offering the breast when needed (we're trying to avoid a nurse to sleep association), unless it's been 3-4 hours since his last feeding in which case he gets the boob.
On the bright side, he will sleep and put himself to sleep in the ergo, car, stroller and bouncy chair, but even those aren't working as they once had.
Please tell me this is all either teething, a wonder week and/or the 4 month sleep regression and will have our little guy back in no time?!!?
