My DH can get discounted tickets through work for the circus. My DD will be 18 months when it's here. I'm not sure if it would be worth it or not to go. We haven't gone to the zoo yet or a petting zoo but she does love music and animals. Thoughts?

My LO (almost 20 months) couldn't even make it through a 15 minute toddler storytime presentation this past weekend, so I wouldn't do it personally. However, I saw lots of kiddoes her age who were sitting still and being attentive, so I think it depends on your kid!

We've brought our son to sporting events and live shows since he was 4 months old. He loves it! If your LO doesn't get overstimulated and can adapt to changes easily, I'd go for it.

We took my DD when she was a little over 2 to the Ringling Brothers Circus Extreme show. She did not care for it. She sat through it but we took breaks and walked around.Us as adults also thought it was very boring, it was not the circus we remembered.

We just went to the circus with DS who is 3 and he got antsy some. It was a Ringling Bros circus with lots going on and he loved it but it was long and he got antsy some. A good 2+ hour long show. I sat there and was glad we didn't bring DD who is almost 18 months. She loves animals but gets so excited that she wants to run to the animals. Depending on the circus and length I would maybe try it and just be okay with it being a bust if she got too active and wouldn't sit still.

Hmm, all good points! It's the Ringling Bros show, and I didn't know it was that long. Definitely need to evaluate her patience level.

I would totally go! We took our 14mo twins to a MLB baseball game - it was a 1pm game and they lasted the whole time. So much to look at! The napped in the car on the way home.

Since the tickets are discounted, I would go and know I need to take breaks but I know LO would have loved it!

@abbydabbydoodlebug: the Ringling Bros show we went to had an animal "open house" 1 1/2 hours before the show and then doors opened 1 hour before the show and they had a pre-show for that hour before it started. The pre-show was down on the floor with mini "rings" open where they did bike tricks or clowns, etc. We did all of that so it was longer for DS and maybe made him more antsy during the show, but we wanted him to "warm up" to it all since he can generally be cautious and unsure of loud things.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: my LO Loves the circus. She was 20 months the first time and had a ball. We got a seat for her and she stood and danced the whole time.
