Some friends invited us to go to Vegas with them. They're going for 3 nights (Friday-Monday). I don't even know if my mom will be able to stay with LO, but if she can we are considering only going for 2 nights (Saturday-Monday) because I don't have a ton of vacation days left.
I've never been to Vegas! Do you think that's enough time or it's a waste to only go for a couple of nights?

Yes. I've been to Vegas so many times and three nights seems like too many. Two is just enough to experience Vegas. More than that I tend to regret either drinking too much or gambling too much.

I have stayed at a ton of hotels. Almost depends on what you want to do. I like the middle of the strip (Bellagio/Caesars) because it's near the other big hotels and miracle mile/forum shops. I loved staying at Wynn because I just felt like it was super nice and across the street from a great mall. I'm personally not a show type of person, I go just to shop, gamble, pool and clubs (in my much younger days).
I've stayed at Flamingo, MGM, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, Wynn, and I know others I am forgetting...I think Bellagio will always be my favorite. I love to gamble cheap at O'Sheas. Some fav places to eat are Dos Amigos, Trevi, Grand Lux and always breakfast at the Bellagio.

I guess it depends on how long your travel time is. I'm in California, so it might be worth it. For me, if I were to spend all of the first day traveling, have one day there and then leave the next morning, I would be less inclined. I would prefer three nights.

I looooove Vegas so I tend to stay a little longer, but I try and spend one whole day poolside. Two nights is worth it, but you may be excited to go back. IMO the best hotel in Vegas is the Cosmopolitan, their breakfast buffet is amazing if you don't stay there. If that's too spendy check out the Hilton Elara, it's right across the street and budget friendly.

@simplyfelicity: We're in TX. It's a 3-hour flight, but we gain 2 hours because of the time difference.

We stayed at the Flamingo last time and LOVED it. It's right in the middle of everything, so it was easier to walk around than if we'd stayed somewhere like the stratosphere.
We always rent a car (so cheap!) because it's free parking and $2 valet at all hotels.

Maybe it's just me, but 2 nights wasn't enough. We got there Friday at 4 and left Sunday morning. The time change just screwed me up and I couldn't stay up like I wanted. I need a night to catch up to their timezone. Stayed at Treasure Island, too far away for me.

@lawbee11: 2 days is plenty! We've stayed at the MGM and the Tropicana. MGM was nice and has been renovated since, but my favorite casinos to ogle are the Bellagio & Paris. Beautiful decor and great food. I'd also recommend checking out the Cosmpolitan. The hotel is really awesome looking, and they have the Wicked Spoon Buffet, which in my opinion is the best in Vegas.

2 days is the max i can do in vegas, but i live an hour flight (or 6 hour drive (NEVER AGAIN!)) so i might be biased against it. we tend to go all out and then crash hard.

Yep! Two nights is fine. We usually do three but we have a 5 hour flight. I loveeeeee Vegas!!!

We usually do 4-5 nights but we like to make it more of a vacation than just a quick getaway. I have done 2 night trips before too and they are always fun.
