I see a lot of posts here about first birthday parties. Any suggestions, lessons learned, or guidelines for planning a second birthday party? Suggestions for entertainment? We are planning to host in our apartment. We will probably invite around 30 adults and 15 kids ranging from ages 1-7.

Will you be able to do any part of the party outside? Bounce houses keep all the kids busy at all of our parties. We also usually have a little table of simple activities like coloring, bubbles, etc.

Does your LO have a favorite book/character? I think a puppet show or some kind of reading aloud activity with props would be fun for that age range and gives the older kids something to do.

We had that age range for DD's 1st and had s lunch in a private room at a restaurant. We brought a laptop and flat screen tv so they could watch movies or play games, pretty sure they were still kind of bored though. So our lesson learned was to have it at a kid venue for #2. We asked our friends with older kids what they enjoy doing and settled on a bounce house place since my DD enjoys them, too. I find it overwhelming to think about entertaining a large age range of kids in our home.
