Ugh! Due tomorrow, and no progress at my appt today. 1-2 dilated (I think OB was being nice!) and 20% effaced (?!). The OB said my cervix hasn't shortened at all. Evening primrose oil & sex did nada!
Failed my NST this morning, but the one I having done now is going fine.
They refuse to schedule an induction until Tuesday, too - 41 weeks. This child is never coming out!

Oh no, hopefully it happens soon! To give you hope I had a friend deliver on Thursday, her appointment on Tuesday she was only 30% effaced and a fingertip dilated! She had her baby within 4 hours of labor on Thursday afternoon...so there is hope!!!

@sorrycharlie: Awww! You are probably sick of hearing it by now but hang in there. I was induced one week past my due date and I was convinced I would never have the baby!

Just think then, this time next week (if it doesn't happen sooner) you will be living the last day without your LO born, EVER! So, just imagine how differently your life will be next Friday, instead of not being in labor yet. I wish I had done that when I was waiting for my LO to come, even after induction was scheduled at 41 weeks

Poor honey, I can't imagine:( don't worry: ALL babies come out one way or another.
How much EPO did you end up taking by the way?
Have you tried youtubing any induction massages or pressure points? Nipple stimulation?

Not even gonna say anything because I know nothing will make you feel better as you wait that last week 
I was 3 cm dilated for more than a week with Lil Miss Wagon (my second) and I was in AGONY for week 38. (Scheduled induction at 39 weeks due to gestational diabetes.) I stopped working, Wagon Sr. took time off, and we spent a LOT of time walking malls and getting lots of little treats. Got mani/pedi, bought myself a Tory Burch wallet, went out to lunches and dinners, watched movies in the theater, went out for ice cream... every single day we went out with my hospital bag in the trunk of the car and ended up coming home every time. I was induced and had a great delivery.
Hang in there that's all I can say!!! And do whatever makes you happy!! I think I ate red velvet cake like 4x in one week!!!

That's how I was at my 40 week appt, and we had the induction scheduled at 41 weeks. I went into labor 3 days before the induction date.

ETA: Do lots of squats!! That seemed to kick it in for me.

I know how it feels! I remember my cervix being completely shut with no hope of the baby coming out when it was supposed to. I did three sessions of acupuncture which seemed to get it going.

Other than that I say: throw in the towel and enjoy your last week as a couple without kids...go out to eat and watch movies! Take a bubble bath with candles and music!

I'm sorry! I just wanted to say that I know how you feel! I'm due on Thursday and he is snug as a bug in a rug in there. As of Friday, I haven't progressed at all. I'm bouncing on my exercise ball as we speak!

@TurtleDoves: I used 2 caps vaginally once a day (pricked with a pin, as per google) and took 1000mg orally 2x a day. but I literally made ZERO progress with effacement in a week, so I'm totally calling hogwash on that theory. lol.
@mrs. wagon: oooh good advice!! I think I'm going to treat myself to a pedi tomorrow! just got one 2 weeks ago buuut..whatever, right?
@TurtleDoves: I got a membrane sweep today (and it didn't hurt at all!) so here's hoping!!

thanks to everyone for the advice and well wishes! I'm hoping she'll come on her own, but my OB is not hopeful at all that that'll happen. so sad. in the mean time..I'll keep myself parked on my exercise ball and re-clean the house!

@Thehistoryofus: I stopped working at 38 weeks..so I've been bored! My list is nitpicky now to keep me occupied...cleaned the fridge and freezer, fans, windows and baseboards, etc. tomorrow I'm gonna get an oil change partially because I'm due and partially for something just TO do!

You will NOT be pregnant forever, promise!
I had NO progress before going into labor.... had been "maybe 1 cm, not effaced, high, but soft" from 36 weeks till I went into labor at 41+4. I wasn't a candidate for induction (not that I would've opted for it) so it was either baby comes on her own or repeat cesarean.
Best advice for what to do is SLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! Sleep as MUCH AS YOU CAN b/c here at any moment you're going to forget the meaning of the word. lol

@sorrycharlie: I got a pedi less than 2 weeks after the last one, and a mani even though I never bother since I end up taking off the polish after a week or so (pet peeve when the polish doesn't cover the whole nail, and my nails grow SO fast). I had fun choosing the colors-- I did a sparkly ruby red on my toes for Lil Miss Wagon's birthstone (ruby), and a pale neutral pink on my fingers... the name of the color was "It's a Girl"! hehe.

@runsyellowlites: lol I already forget the meaning of the word unfortunately!! I haven't slept in months..I'm still sick round the clock and toss and turn all night with hip pain. I'm actually looking forward to the little sleep I'll have being less painful!!

@Mrsdaredevil: exactly! I sit in bed feeling totally, 100% normal and feel like I'm 20 weeks pregnant and not going to deliver any time soon. My husband kept saying that it's only my due date and I'm not a week late yet, but I just have a feeling it's going to go into October!! yeesh
@tequiero21: they decided to do a 15-minute NST in the office after my appt, but she wasn't cooperating (only moved when they buzzed her with this thingy), but I think she was sleeping. Then they said it was either going to triage to take another, longer one or going to the Prenatal Diagnosis Center (I guess a step in between?). I went there and had another 30-minute one and she was fine (later in the day). They did a biophysical profile there, which was the NST and a short ultrasound to check fluid and placenta. The nurse said my placenta looks post-term with calcification (?) so I don't get whyyy with all this combined they are STILL going to make me wait a freakin' week!! I'm so discouraged and upset. As immature as that sounds. lol.

I thought I would go nuts waiting, too. The day I went to the hospital, I was less than 1cm dilated....
So don't let that part discourage you!
And inductions suck. I hope you go into labor on your own--and soon.
And yes.... after a few days of no sleep in the hospital--you will sleep much better than the painful pregnancy sleep! Remember to enjoy that precious sleep when your LO is sleeping and on the outside.

I was in your shoes in late July. It sucks! I never progressed...super frustrating! I ended up getting a c section at 41 weeks, but I had a big baby...I didn't want to be induced and my OB gave me the option so I chose a planned c section over induction. Anyway, I feel for you!
My advice is to cook some freeze-friendly meals. They are sooo nice to have on hand during those early weeks. I made a few baked zitis, taco soup, chicken pot pie, casseroles, chili. It occupied my time while I waited!

@sorrycharlie: STOP SAYING THAT! It is *NOT* going to be in October...heavens no....no ...no...you will go into labor. October better not try to sneak in while you're still pregnant. Go with the sapphire polish and don't let those thoughts get into your head:) Come oooooon baby!

Just wanted to let you know I've been thinking about you. I agree that inductions suck. The only advice I can give you is get out of the house and drive somewhere I'm not supposed to drive for two weeks, and the only place I've been is the pediatrician and a quick trip to Target afterwards.

So sorry you are so uncomfortable. Your baby girl must just be very happy with her current home. I've heard that sex with O 3 times a day for 3 days can really get things going especially once you're officially due. In any case you only have a short amount of time left, even if it doesn't feel that way. Good luck, I'll be think lots of spontaeous labor thoughts for you!

@pastemoo: I have no birth plan, I've always been just whatever works to get her out..but the closer it gets the more I'm terrified that an induction won't work! Especially since the OB said while I'm 1-2, my cervix is still as long as a "normal" one that isn't supposed to be effacing. I hope that isn't a bad sign that I'll fail an induction 
@Amelieisme: hmm, I was thinking of doing freezer meals but my grandmother is insisting on bringing us food. I might make some anyway though because I'm a superrrr picky eater! Then at least I'll have "comfort" food when I'm not feeling so hot afterward!
@TurtleDoves: oh my gosh..and the worst is that my grandmother's birthday is october 1 (monday) which sounds so mean, but she's legit nuts. and she's been screeching all along that I should "go late" so they can share a birthday. I'd rather stick a fork in my eye!! LOL
@MusicaV: aw, thank you! is no driving for 2 weeks with vaginal? I'm going to go nuts how'd the first trip out go? did strangers come close? I know I'm going to want to get out but my family is trying to put the fear of god into me about germs..
@skipra: oh wow! usually I don't bother trying to O because I just have so much back pain it doesn't work but I'm so desperate at this point.
