@sorrycharlie: Yes, I had a vaginal delivery. The first trip out went pretty well. He started screaming, so I had to BF while waiting for the pediatrician. He slept the whole time we were in the store. We just put a blanket over the car seat.

@pastemoo: you're so sweet! I ate 3 cups of pineapple and general tso's chicken last night for dinner. then afterward (I think coincidence!) I started losing my mucus plug (wasn't 100% sure but google made me think yes). then today I lost a LOT more..like, 1/2 cup worth. so I called the OB to double check normal and they want me to get checked today instead of waiting until my appt tomorrow..so at the very least, moving my internal up a day might bring some progress!! my fingers are crossed

@sorrycharlie: When I went in for my induction, my cervix was still totally thick and long also and I was not dilated at all. I dilated really quickly. They did Cervadil at 9pm. Started pitocin at 4am. By 6am-ish, I was 2-3cm but not effaced. At 9am, I was fully effaced and at 12, I was 10cm and ready to push. Just trying to give you a little hope.

@zippylef: wow! that does give me hope..I was so nervous that not effacing meant I'd end up with a failed induction/c section. not that I'm against a CS...whatever gets her out, but I've heard recovery is tougher if you labored for a long time versus an earlier c-sec (not that I have any clue!).

@sorrycharlie: Our bodies are tricky like that. Not being effaced does not mean it will fail. I was convinced I was doomed also because I had made no progress, but my induction went pretty quick. 8 hours from the start of the pitocin until I was 10cm. (I was 40+6, btw)
I did end up laboring for a long time after I was fully dilated, but that was due to some other complications that had nothing to do with being induced. I think my final tally was 15.5 hours of active labor. I feel like my recovery was really quick, to be honest... and that's even with an episiotomy, the use of forceps, a hemorrhage and a few other things thrown in there. lol

@sorrycharlie: maybe ask for a membrane sweep....that should get things going since your post-term. I asked my OB for one last week and she refused because she said it might through me right into labor. So, it may for you!
@zippylef: wow, just wanted to say you are the poster child for inductions without previous dilation!

@sorrycharlie: I was induced and had a super positive experience. In fact, I just wrote a post about it. I could e-mail you a copy if you'd like to read it!
I think I am a bit behind--are you getting induced for sure?

@sorrycharlie: I wasn't technically "favorable" for induction but it went really well for me!

@TurtleDoves: I did have a membrane sweep on Monday, and I was 1-2 and 20%. Then today, Thursday, I'm a solid 3! She said I'm still not really effaced but that she could easily get 2 fingers in and could feel the bag of water. So I'm hoping that does something, even though she didn't technically do a membrane sweep today!
@Mrsdaredevil: well, my OB made it sound that way on Monday - they're calling tomorrow to schedule me an induction on Tuesday 10/2. She said they're doing that in the case that I don't go into labor over the weekend, I won't have to (hopefully) wait any longer than exactly 41 weeks if we were to wait longer to schedule it. But she said, "I don't bet in this business - but if I did, I'd say you'll have her by this weekend" so I'm reeeeally hoping to avoid an induction! She also said because I'm already at a 3, they'd just start the pitocin and skip the cervadil stuff (I think?).
@Thehistoryofus: that's good!! you hear these horror stories about pitocin so I'm a little nervous if she doesn't come on her own!

@sorrycharlie: that is similar to my story. I was terrified of the pitocin and it ended up going super smooth. You will have to keep us updated!
