Any suggestions? We have 5 days kid free and want to do something romantic for our 5 year anniversary and are having a hard time deciding. We're open to us, the Caribbean, a cruise, basically anything that isn't too long of traveling. What do you suggest?

The Pacuare Lodge in Costa Rica is the most romantic place I have ever been. You have to white water raft in, there's no electricity (so they light your room with candles in the evening) and it's deep in the rainforest so the views are spectacular. The food is 5* and the suites are unreal with huge decks, outdoor showers and infinity pools. It was the perfect way to unplug.
Iceland was also incredible and surprisingly romantic.

My husband and I stayed at the Grace Bay Club in Turks and Caicos for our 5th. Most beautiful water and beach I've seen. We splurged on the place but they really go out of their way to treat you very well! I would go back there again in a heartbeat!

We did the ritz Carlton in St Thomas for our 5 year and it was amazing! Highly recommend!!

When are you going and where are you flying from?
I second Iceland! We have traveled a lot and it's one of our absolute favorite places.... so much so that we're willing to break our no repeats rule and go back! -

Our first child free trip after LO was born was the Viceroy Anguilla. Its now a Four Seasons. It was already kinda expensive but no idea if the Four Seasons name made it go up further.
It is GORGEOUS and we had the most amazing time. My husband doesn't like repeating places/hotels but that is one he wants to revisit.
It's also a boats ride from St Barths and St martin (you actually fly into St martin and take a boat from there) so you can take some nice day trips too. Lots of little tiny island excursions you can take as well. Like an island that has only one restaurant and that's it. Stuff like that. -
Phoenix? Vegas? Pick a posh hotel with an amazing pool. There are tons of amazing restaurants and shows if gambling isn't your thing. Turks and Caicos would be another suggestion.
Edit: If you are looking for warmer weather keep in mind what month you are traveling if staying in the US. Vegas and Phoenix in the winter months can get chilly.

Costa Rica is nice and warm, unless you want someplace to snuggle like Fairmont Banff

End of April may still be a bit chilly in Iceland, but I'm sure it'd still be gorgeous. I have friend that just went last week, while it's covered in snow and chilly, but loved it. But perks of winter trip was high probability of seeing the northern lights.

We went to Nashville, New Orleans and Austin for our 5 year. We ate alllll the food and did tons of sight seeing.
If you want to go to a city over a beach I'd go to New Orleans, SF, Vegas or Palm Springs and stay in a fancy hotel and eat out- some of the best cities for food IMO (besides Palm Springs - I have not been there but really want to go).
