We just went out to dinner! A yummy steakhouse. And got each other cards. Then, 2 months later, we went on a kid free vacation to Mexico.

I got him a peach tree! That was for our 5th anniversary. I think 3rd anniversary is leather so for that one I got him some leather flip flops. He is still wearing them. We don't spend a lot on presents, mostly we celebrate by going out on a date.

I baked a cake for dessert on the actual day. My parents watched LO so we could go out to dinner the weekend after. We don't usually do presents.

It was 4 months ago and I don't remember, lol!!

Our anniversary coincided with my mom's last-minute trip to town so we had a babysitter for DS for the whole weekend! I told DH we didn't even have to go away overnight, but I wanted to spend the day swimming and lounging (didn't care if beach, lake, or pool). He planned a trip to a mountain resort. With a pool. It was wonderful! No gifts or cards or anything.

We usually just do a date night for our anniversary but this year since it was a big one (10 yrs) we took a trip!

We don't exchange gifts, but we do get a cake. I have two handpainted wooden figures that we put on top, painted to look like us.

I got them from Etsy, the year we were married.

3rd was hard for me too because DH doesn't use many things that are made of leather and we do traditional gifts (he hates wallets, doesn't wear leather shoes, etc. etc.)

I can't remember which story I picked (pregnancy brain) but you can chose any of them. I think it was something about not knowing what the future will hold, but knowing we'll conquer it together.

And I got him a whirly pop popcorn popper because he likes making popcorn and totally scratched our last flat top stove with a pan making it in a regular pot.

Dinner then dessert! I was pregnant so no drinks but we got dressed up and went to eat. It was nice. We don't really do presents.

I don't think we did anything for our last anniversary. I was pregnant with J, so it wasn't high on our list to celebrate.

Today is our 2 year wedding anniversary! He had mentioned getting me something, but I told him that we could just do dinner. I'm 37 weeks pregnant, and we have a lot going on right now. Since we got married at a restaurant, we have a built in location for anniversary dinners.

For our third anniversary, I got my husband a leather toiletries bag with his initials put on it.

@MaryM: What traditional gift did you get your husband for your 4th anniversary?

We try to do something from the lists (traditional or modern) when we can - this year (5) we got a new king-size bed (wood). I'm blanking on what I did for our 4th anniversary, but for our third, I got him crystal old-fashioned glasses from Tiffany.
