I took hubs to Charleston, SC for a long weekend. He took me to a really nice dinner and concert in town. We are more experience people than gift people.

We went on a combined babymoon/anniversary trip to Hawaii. We each picked out a small wooden souvenir since wood is the traditional gift. I got a Christmas ornament.

Received: Diamond anniversary band
Did: Went to Land Between the Lakes for an anniversary trip/bike race/trail run. The photo in my avatar is from that trip.

We planned our first overnight trip away from both girls. We rented a hotel room downtown and just spent a ton of time together and ate at a bunch of new places that we've been dying to try. It was really awesome to concentrate on just being "us" instead of mom and dad.
No presents because those 30 hours was expensive with the hotel room and all the good food we ate!!!! But it was worth every penny and we're looking forward to the next time.....in another 3.5 years. LOL

We were visiting my parents at their house so we really didn't do much "special". DH did get me a wooden sign with a special phrase of ours painted on it though.
We don't tend to make a big deal out of anniversaries though (at least not with big gifts, dates, etc.)

We bought and moved into a new house and day of we went to a wedding sans-kid

We went to dinner at a really nice restaurant. We were also thinking of taking a nice vacation for the two of us, although that ended up turning into a cruise with LO as well. I guess technically that was our gift to ourselves.

We bought, or rather we tried to buy, a new wooden fence for around our property. The contractor got in an accident and has a broken leg, but I'm sure he'll get to us eventually.

We generally don't give gifts for anniversaries, as it's right between Christmas and Valentine's Day.
Our 5th will be this year, I'm getting a diamond band for my wedding ring. We'll probably eat a fancy dinner out too - but considering I'll be 38 weeks pregnant, there's no trips for us!

Ours is in November. We will be in Mexico for a friend's wedding. Before the wedding came up, we were planning on taking a trip anyway.
We never do gifts though. Just a nice dinner out and cards.

We are going to Wilmington for a night. We are going to go on a boat tour, check out some restaurants and have a nice night in a nice hotel. Maybe room service for breakfast.

Ours is this year. We're a little short on cash and expecting a baby, so we're thinking of just doing a one-night trip somewhere quiet and calm to relax.

We went to Hawaii and left our LO with Grandma and Grandpa! Worth it!

Ours was this past April - we went out to a nice dinner and bought ourselves a new bed/mattress for our gift. Typically we do a short weekend trip somewhere (it's the day before my birthday so we celebrate both things at once) but didn't feel like arranging that with an 8-month-old!

We went to Europe for two weeks. We were going through IVF right after we returned so it was our (hopeful) last hurrah before having kids.

Ours is next month and we are going to a nice restaurant that we both love - Juniper & Ivy. DH gifted me a LV purse I have been wanting for a long time for my birthday so I am not expecting anything for our anniversary. I am looking for something nice for him though!

I will be about 37 weeks pregnant, so prob just dinner out! We didn't exchange gifts last year for our 4th and it was SO nice to not have the pressure of what to buy.

We did our first weekend away from LO (although she was staying in other end of town with my in-laws).

Ours is three weeks on Friday! Before my husband recently started grad school (major time drain) we planned to take a trip and settled on The Mighty 5 in Utah. Instead, we're going to (hopefully) hear our baby's heartbeat for the first time!

Ours was this past May. On the day of we went out to dinner at our favorite restaurant sans baby....we were visiting our old hometown of Denver so it was fun to visit an old favorite! Just this past weekend we had the opportunity to get away without the baby, so we went to Door County, WI for two nights while my parents watched the baby. Our "gifts" to each other were me: organizing this trip and him: getting me a road bike we'd planned to buy for a while. All our money is shared anyway, and both purchases were planned for. We just called them anniversary gifts!

Nothing! I was heavily pregnant with Logan. I think maybe we exchanged small gifts, but that was it. It was right after Xander had been hospitalized, so we weren't really thinking of it. Oh well. Maybe we'll do something big for the 10th one!

We still have 2 years to go, but I'm hoping to do a trip back to Barbados where did our favorite part of our honeymoon.

This was the first year we lived in our house, I got 8 place settings of china.
My husband ordered himself a google glass. It was his present for all the events that year.

We both turned 30 within a few weeks of our 5th anniversary so we used it as an excuse to take a big trip to celebrate everything. We went to the south of Spain, and we also got pregnant on the trip! Exciting times! Besides that we basically just treated ourselves to a few nice dinners--we like eating out

We went to Philly for a long weekend kid- free. Ate at some restaurants we have been wanting to try, did I mention we were kids free?

Ours is next year, I am really hoping to do a weekend in Spain drinking wine etc, but I have no idea how the childcare aspect will work!

Ours is next week – eek, how did that happen?! and we will be flying on the actual day of. We’re going to try to go to A16 in San Francisco for dinner to celebrate a few days late, and then something bigger later on this year. I’d really like to go to a fantastic spa somewhere (DH likes spa stuff too, loves facials, etc.). I really, really am dying to go somewhere with natural mud baths and natural hot springs, but we’ll see. That will be a combo my birthday and anniversary short trip, and will be kid-free!

Ours is next month and I've been thinking really hard! I saw a wooden plaque that said:
The (last name) Family
est. (anniversary date)
I thought it was cute and I want to incorporate our kids into it somehow (maybe hang pictures around the plague?), but we'll see! It's more of a family gift to us than for him. I can't think of a good gift for him! Wood is hard man!
We don't live near family so we can't take a trip anywhere although I think having someone watch DS while we get a room at the hotel we got married at would be fantabulous. I'm sure the rooms there are $$ though, but it'd be nice!

Ours is later this month and we'll be visiting friends over the weekend so nothing special planned for the actual day. Maybe do dinner out sans LO once we get back.
Gifts are wood and silverware....I'm gifting DH custom cufflinks and tie clip (stretch for silverware) and he's making us a succulent planter box for the house, like this but wood instead of metal: https://www.etsy.com/listing/195474122/12-x-20-succulent-hanging-planter-metal?ref=shop_home_active_2

We're talking about getting tattoos. Not like, matching ones or anything lol. But it is just something that we've both always wanted to do (they would be our first) and we never wanted to spend the money so we thought it might be a good gift to ourselves/each other.
Before we had LO we thought we'd do Europe but we wouldn't want to take or leave her at that point.

I need ideas for mine - I'm just excited that we get to open the bottle of wine from our wine box ceremony!!

@Mae: Oh we're going to Europe in the spring! I guess that's kinda like a belated 5-year anniversary trip LO will be 21 months then.

We took a long weekend trip to Paso Robles and spent the weekend wine tasting. It was fabulous, we bought two cases of wine and has some fantastic food.

@KT326: Love Paso! That's where we got engaged I think we're going to head down there over Harvest weekend this fall.

We'll be doing our fantasy football draft (our anniversary is 8/28).... We went to Punta Cana back in April with some friends. Maybe we'll go get dinner or drinks after the draft.
