@kjfromnj: I can heartily recommend it, and it might be one of the factors explaining the resurgence in popularity of Amelia, certainly.

@apis: that would make sense! I hear it is immensely popular and my SIL is religious about it.

Clair-a, rhymes with Tara (not taah-ra).

We haven't told anyone irl but if Lo is a girl she will be Clara. I love it.

I don't know any amelia babies personally.

I don't know any Amelias... But #30 in popularity is pretty far down on the list.
I say Claire-Ah, and my friends who have a Clara pronounce it that way. The only person I've ever heard say "Clahhh-ra" was my British ballet teacher.
I work with two Tara's, and one is Tear-ah and one is Tahhh-ra. I always forget which is which.

A friend of mine just had an Amelia! I've never met one before, though. I love the name.

Claire-a. Must be regional, because I've never heard it pronounced any other way. I have a couple friends with daughters named Clara & they are all adorable. That's good juju, right?

I know one Amelia... she's super cute. It was a name I loved, but hubs shot down.

Clahh-ra, but you would think I have a funny accent anyway and I know one Amelia... It's not that popular here.

I don't know any Amelias IRL, but I also don't know many kids under 3 or 4,which is probably the demographic in which it is most common.

    Claire-a.
I know one Amelia who is 5 years old, and she goes by Millie.
    So cute!
For what it's worth, I work in a job where I see a ton of baby names every day and have actually never seen a Clara or Amelia come across my desk in the last 4 years!
