I'm sure Disney is awesome for all ages, but if you couldn't afford to go every year or every few years...what age do you think kids get the most out of it?
We want to take our girls to Disney some day but I think it would only be able to be a one time thing. I would want to get the most out of it so I'm wondering which age is best. My girls are 19 months apart so maybe 4 and 6? Younger? Older?

I know they're free before 3.... I wouldnt mind going next summer right before 3 and doing just a couple of days in magic kingdom. We're planning on #2 before she turns 4 So if we dont go next year she'll probably be around 7 and #2 about 3-4 if we do a big, whole sha-bang kinda trip.

We're doing a Disney cruise next year (she'll be 3 at the time). We're planning to wait til she's around 6 to take her to Disney World.

we are taking Dd this year at 2.5, but we are planning to go a few times in her childhood. If I was only going to go once I'd probably go around 7.

I didn't go to Disney until I was 33! I feel like 4 and 6 or 5 and 7 would work.
That being said, we are planning to go in February, LO is 3.5. My father in law lives in Orlando so we stay with him.

I didn't go until I was 12, it was too old as a child, because I wasn't into the "magic" aspect of it all.
I've brought my son at ages 3 and 4. I feel like 3 was too young, he was scared of the big characters and too short for a lot of rides. At this age, he still believes in the magic, and since that is what Disney does best, think between 4 and 7 is a good range.

We're planning to take DD when she is around 5. We're inviting grandparents so DH and I can have some time in the parks alone too. I'm looking forward to it!

I went at age 5 and only have a couple very vague memories of it. So I'd say 6 or 7 is the ideal age. So maybe at 5 and 7 for your kids?

My girls are 28m apart and I want the younger one to at least be old enough for the kiddie rides. So I'm guess the earliest is 5 and 3?
It'll be a big trip for us with airfare, hotel, park tickets, and food for 4. It definitely won't happen next summer. Maybe the spring or fall or early summer of 2017 or 2018!
I think for the "magic" of Disney I ideally want to take when dd1 is no older than 6 and 7 at the latest for the first time.

Does anyone know what the minimum height requirement is for most kiddie rides at WDW? DD1 was tall enough at 2.5 for kiddie rides at six flags so id assumed we'll be safe for dd2 when she's 3.

@regberadaisy: there isn't one for the kiddie rides like those in fantasyland. I took dd when she was only 6 months, although to California adventures, and she rode everything we did except the roller coaster.

We went to WDW when DD was 3 and she loved it.
We're going to Disneyland soon. Kids are 4.5 and almost 3! Can't wait!

@regberadaisy: there are some that are for all heights. the first height restriction starts at 32".

We just went to WDW with kids ranging from 16 months to 10 years old. I would say at least 4 is the minimum age for when I will take my son back. We only went because it was a trip with my whole family. My almost 4 year old niece enjoyed everything she was tall enough to ride, even Thunder Mountain Railroad. But she does have an adventurous personality! I think at 5-6 they will remember it more.

I was 13 the only time we went when I was little. I wasn't too old, but I've always been a little more childlike I guess? We would have gone when I was younger, but we couldn't afford it. We were only able to go when we did because my mom won a free trip.
