A Magical Month of BFPs aka December POAS!

9DPO here today and my sister (acting as our surrogate) has been so nauseous the past day and a half, she's hardly been able to keep anything down. She POAS yesterday at 8DPO but it was stark white. We're both a bit of a basket case right now! I think (despite living with an entire ocean between us) we are feeding each other's anxiety at the moment much to DH's dismay. He's chill as a cucumber and doesn't understand what all our nervous energy is going to accomplish. Haha! I really really want the next couple of days to go by quickly so that we can just know and move on from there because this TWW thing sucks

@Mrs.Panda: You know, my doctor actually didn't mention it, but I happen to have a course of Provera left on prescription. My doc back in June told me that I would have another round of it in case I had another ridiculously long cycle (which I guess is all of them, ha!). But since my current doc didn't mention it, I'm not sure if I should take it without at least talking to her first. Also, I always have that little bit of hope that I will ovulate eventually and I don't want to miss that opportunity to try. Maybe I'll get through the holidays first, and if no O, I'll call my doc and see if it's OK to take the Provera.

@however briefly: I'm a lurker on this thread, but hoping for the best for you guys! is it weird that I kind of want to follow your story? 8 dpo is still early, so you're totally not out yet!!

Tested yesterday morning at CD30 and BFN. Still no period yet but I think I'm out. We'll see. 30 is my usual cycle length and 34 days is my longest so I'll wait a few more days before testing again if AF doesn't show up. I keep wishing for a positive test for Christmas but it is probably not to be.
Anyway, FX for everyone in their TWW!

@sorrycharlie: @Reese: Haha! I would have applied to blog about our experience but my sister didn't feel comfortable with it even in anonymity. Her job is a bit weird about lots of things so she is extremely careful about what is said on the internet and I want to respect those wishes. She's okay with vague details like those I've already provided but not much specificity beyond that. That being said, I will definitely keep everyone updated as we continue along our journey. This is three years in the making now so we've come a long way and yet still have so far to go!

@however briefly: so amazed by your sister! I could not do it myself. Being pregnant and carrying a child is such a strain on the body. She is absolutely amazing and I think this us the most beautiful selfless gift. Best sister and auntie award hands down.

@MrsMccarthy: She really is an amazing person, I completely agree. Luckily (and not in any way to diminish this selfless choice she has made), she has never and does not want kids of her own. I was complaining one day about TTC and she joked, "If I ever get accidentally knocked up, I'll just give you the kid, okay? I am really interested in experiencing pregnancy but honestly I really don't want to have a kid to take care of at the end of it." And then somehow from there we realized that, hey, that's not such a bad idea after all! She is REALLY looking forward to having a special more-than-an-aunt relationship with the child but being able to send the kid back to us at the end of the day. Can't complain about that!!

@however briefly: your story is inspiring and I love the love that you and your sister share.

Congrats to all of the BFPs this month!

Sorry I haven't been more active on the board, y'all are amazing but sometimes it's easier for me to stay away or lurk silently especially since we've been having some issues conceiving.

Just know that I'm silently cheering you on!

Wacky cycle here we go. POAS (FRER) the day my period was due, which just so happened to be 8DPO. BFN. POAS (FRER) yesterday, and today with two more BFN. I usually have 26-29 day cycle. I've only had a 31 or 32 day cycle one time, and that was the month I took the bar exam. So, I figured I would test on the same day my period was due even though I didn't get my positive opk until cd 20. Which was also weird considering I got a positive opk cd 9 last month! So, I don't know when I will test again. I'm thinking maybe Christmas morning, or on New Years if no AF by then. The fact today is CD 30 and I don't have AF is wild to me.

@dc yoga bee: any chance you are having a longer cycle because you are stressing about TTC? Or the holidays or something else?

  17. dc yoga bee

    grapefruit / 4770 posts

@Mrs. Confetti: That's the thing. The only "stress" that caused me to have a longer cycle was the month I actually took the bar exam. My day to day life/job is high stress, so that would be nothing new and I still have my normal 26-29 day cycle. I looked at my chart, and there have only been 2x (in the past two years I've been charting my cycles) my cycle was off. Bar exam month, and first month of my first big girl job. Not even wedding planning and getting married during law school have thrown it off lol. It's so frustrating!

@dc yoga bee: I find the times that I think I would be stressed I am not, and then at times I think I am ok....whammmm I am stressed more than I thought!

Deep breath and test again, fingers crossed for you

@FaithFertility: Lol I know I sound like a stress basket. But, that's just the way I am, and always have been sadly. Every day is a life or death mentality at my job. Nothing different about this month. Unless, you count the extra calories from yummy food!
