@HolisticMama: welcome to the boards! I hope your stay in the TTC group is short! It's very hard not to POAS early! I always started on 8DPO!

@HolisticMama: haha to the carpet cleaner (I kinda would like one though).
I have seen that link but BFNs mess with my head so now I will only test once I am late. We are due on about the same time though, either 31 or 1st for me but I am only 7 dpo max (taking a break from tracking this cycle) I have a short LP. Let's hope your stay on the POAS boards is short and sweet.

@HolisticMama: welcome to the boards! I would've a handheld cleaner. Our couch is nasty.

I've noticed gifts downgrade as the relationship progresses. Our first Xmas I got a diamond necklace, by the time we were married I was getting windshield wipers LOL

    @Mrs. Jump Rope and @Snowdrop-
ACTUALLY the carpet cleaner that my husband got is a 2-in-1. It's a standing cleaner and a spot cleaner. They call it the deep clean lift off- http://www.bissell.com/deepclean-lift-off-pet/?icid=hs201312_2_LODC
It's pretty awesome. Haha. I put it on my "wish list" after spending a morning cleaning up dog pee. NOT cool. -_-

I got DH a garage door opener remote as one of his presents. Haha. Oh goodness.

@Snowdrop- Do you think you will test on New Years Eve? I will since I already let that POAS cat out of the bag. I day dream of giving my husband a little wrapped up silver box with a positive test in it at midnight. But who am I kidding? Phantom symptom or not....I fell asleep at 8 PM on the couch last night! EIGHT!

@Delight- Thanks for the welcome! Have you been here long? I too hope for a short stay, but I've had hormone issues in the past and through exploring those, we also discovered that DH has a low sperm count and low morphology. The endocrinologist painted a grim picture, but I think that might partly be his job? I find myself always towing the line of hope and whatever I think reality might be.

@jmarionsmith: you poor thing. I hope you have some reassurance soon. Seems like what you are experiencing is normal but after a loss I'm sure it never feels safe to be optimistic. Baby dust and hugs!

When are we starting the January board? I think that it's @MRS.PANDA who is gonna MC it? Since we only BD on O-4 I feel pretty sure we won't get a BFP in January but ya never know. My POAS should be somewhere between January 6-8

So today is 14dpo but my sister/surrogate has been really sick for the last few days (fever and flu) and is insistent that she feels it just didn't happen this month so she doesn't want to test at home since we have a beta scheduled for tomorrow. But due to the weekend, we won't find out the results until Monday!

Between all the months of wondfo and last month's POAS, she is sick of all the urine testing and feels it is stressing her out more than anything. I'm really trying to respect that but I'm also starting to realize that I'm the type of person who would be compulsively testing multiple times a day just cause I can while she definitely isn't. It's a fine balance here, let me tell you!

@HolisticMama: I have to say it has crossed my mindand if it was my first month or so and I hadn't found out about issues I might have done but then realistically since we are hosting a party it would be rather an inappropriate time to tell hin anyway. I know he will be vrry emotional and he is a proper man's man. Far too public. Though i think im going to day dream about gifting positive tests in little silver boxes...ah what a perfect start to 2014 that would be...

@Snowdrop- Aw. I wish my husband got emotional. I guess we'll see what happens. Are you hopeful about this cycle. Do you mind me asking what type of issues you have?

@However Briefly- Wow! My fingers are crossed! You're sister is your surrogate? That's WONDERFUL! Regardless if she is experiencing pregnancy symptoms, phantom symptoms or the flu...it is just NOT fun being sick. Comforting thoughts are going her way. I hope she knows how many supporters she has here!

Well, I found out via FB that two of my friends from nursing school are KU. I am happy for them, but also super jealous lol. Can't help it. One found out Christmas morning and posted it immediately. She is also the one who conceived her last LO after BD just ONCE! I wish I had that luck!

    @holisticmama: welcome!!!

My RE is monitoring a normal cycle this month before putting me on clomid and on 6dpo my progesterone level was good! 24.6 and she said it needed to be above 20 and that mine was great! Looks like I am ovulating and my body knows what to do!

I just hope that the next week goes by quickly so I can find out if this is our month!

So a week ago I got a BFN, but my period never arrived so I thought I would re-test this morning. I used a wondfp first, and yep, my first BFP! I was so excited/shocked that I took a second test ad got another positive. I am in serious shock right now... I didn't use opks or anything this month, just didn't think about TTC and now this! I've never put a picture on before but hopefully it works. Now I just need to figure out a way to tell my husband.

  20. Snowdrop

    pear / 1846 posts

@HolisticMama: no not at all. I had symptoms of low progesterone and get really strange 1 day periods. Went for some test and they diagnosed me with high prolactin this month. Unfortunatly i need to go for a shed load more tests before they will do anything. So not a lot of hope for this cycle. I had also decided to take a little break but know my body to well now so that didnt work out haha! Have started takibg a high dose b6 in the vain hope i might be able to reduce it myself so much more hope for next cycle.

@OTTILIE- Woohoo! Look at the big beautiful positive!! What a happy feeling!! Congratulations!

@HOWEVER BRIEFLY- Have a wonderful weekend getaway! Your husband sounds very sweet and thoughtful. He will make a wonderful father!

@Snowdrop- Interesting. I don't know about about prolactin. It sounds like you have a very thorough doctor though. That's great. I went to a RE that said, "Oh- You're having normal cycles? Then your hormones must be fine." But I'm not entirely sure I believe those sentiments- and it wasn't the case since another test showed low estrogen. Are you feeling any better on the B-6?

As for me, I have had a solid week of not sleeping well and second guessing phantom symptoms. I'm very quickly learning that I need to become better at letting things go, especially if the emotions or thoughts are not beneficial. Now my new worry is that I will have a full blown temporary phantom pregnancy and it will mess with my cycles, when I have been so predictable (28-29 day) cycle in the past.

I had no idea that I was such a worry wart.

@HolisticMama: I feel really good on the b6 but it's only my 3rd day so can't say if it is working.
She is good my doc because I haven't been trying a year so she could have just dismissed me but it was actually the practice nurse who added the prolactin test on to the others. Plus I think doctors tend to think any cycle between 21 and 35 days is normal but the truth s that there are plenty of things that can be wrong in those cycles. My symptoms were late O/short lp, very light period and I get horrible metallic tastes too at O and before af haven't managed to explain that one yet though!

I'm 'testing' out cocktail recipes tonight in preparation or our
NYE party anyone else doing anything interesting?

@ottilie: Congratulations! Way to squeak it in at the end of the year lol. Maybe put the test or a cute Happy New Year onesie in a gift box with a nice bottle of sparkling grape juice and tell him you have some things to help celebrate the new year!

@Snowdrop: I've got a stomach bug so I called out of work which is rare and makes me feel SO GUILTY. Maybe I will sit on the couch and watch a bunch of movies, which I never get to do. I need to go obtain some broth and saltines, though.

  38. Snowdrop

@Mrs.Panda: ah I know what you mean about feeling guilty taking time off in our line of work. I actually feel guilty going in too incase it makes someone more poorly... Can't win!

P.s where are you in your cycle? Stomach bug eh?!

  39. Mrs.Panda

    nectarine / 2358 posts

@Snowdrop: Haha I wish it was because of that, but I'm on CD 4. I get this crazy illness about once a year, sometimes twice where it is just awful. Everything you could think of with a stomach bug, I got it, if you now what I mean lol. I think the worst has passed (it usually only lasts like 8-12 hours) but I would hate to have to be sent home because things started um.. bubbling up again lol. Especially because I'm precepting someone!

@Mrs.Panda: I'm so sorry you are feeling so sick! I'm cd 3 and woke up with a cough. I hope both of us get over this before prime BDing time!
