One name (of each sex) that you love but will never use. How come?
Girl - Candice: Dh said it sounded like a "stripper name", but I always thought it was really pretty, especially spelt with an "i".
Boy - Scott: Dh thinks it's too "simple and plain". Plus it reminds him of the song "Scotty doesn't know" from Eurotrip LOL

Charlotte - I nixed it because one of my high school best friends was named Charlotte and we had an unfortunate falling out.

Alexander - it is awful with our last name. Same with Alexa and especially Alexis. I loooove those names but can't even consider them.

Samuel- my favorite boy name, and I've loved it forever. But, my SIL's name is Sam, so I can't use it.

Jackson- with our last name sounds just like the popular ski destination. Plus our friends just used it.
girls- Lucy and Maggie- love both but they feel like nicknames to me and I don't love the full names. But love them. And Caitlin, because there are too many spellings and I know even my family would get it wrong.

Grace - I've always loved it but my husband doesn't. Roman - I like it but don't think I'd actually name my child that. Same for Brendan and Patrick.
Certain Italian first names that wouldn't go with my husband's Irish last name. M has an Italian name but somehow it just flows well.

Beatrice because Mr. Jacks didn't like it. Zenobia because we felt it was a little too "big". Clementine because #1 wasn't a red head.
Boys- Lorenzo because I dated one in the past. Thelonious- too big of a name. Fitzgerald because we're not Irish enough.

@wrkbrk: You should use one of them! I wish we could have used Ava for DD but DH vetoes any name that's higher than 100 on the Social Security list.

Caleb for boy. Rhymes with last name.
I also love Frances/Francis (family name).

@catlady: Gabriel was JUST taken by a friend of ours (what are the chances??). DW says we can still use it but I feel weird. But I haven't loved another boy name as much! Ava is still a possibility. I think we need to see the baby before we TOTALLY decide although we *think* we have a top girls name now (Camille).
