BFN again today for me. Just waiting for AF to show up sometime in the next day or two. I know I'm not officially out yet, but I feel like it's only a matter of time.

Cycle Day: 25
TTC Cycle #: 1
POAS dates: Dec 14, about 13-14 DPO
Baby #: 3
This is my first time posting on a POAS thread - I was too nervous last time! I temped for my first two TTC but this time my schedule just won't allow for consistent timing. I think my O date should have been around Fri/Sat/Sun of thanksgiving weekend, unfortunately we were staying at the in laws. When we were TTC #1 I wouldn't have let anything stop me but this time around I wouldn't mind waiting another month. So we BD O-2/3 and O+1/2. We'll see, maybe this will be a lucky month. We have family visiting this week and I want to wait till after they leave to POAS, but if I don't see AF by that time I'll know already
@autumnlove: Glad I am not the only crazy person going for #3!

@lilteacherbee: Yeah!! Did I see recently that you are expecting #2 now? I have barely posted for months, but of course TTC has got me regularly visiting the bee again

Good luck!!

So guess who had 'a moment' today while at my cousins 1 year olds bday party... THIS girl. A few months back I posted about how my sister got pregnant on her first try and she decided to announce to my whole family today at the end of the party. Before she even announced it I got no less than 5 people ask me when we're going to start trying and 'you or your sister are next". Once they announced it I went to the back of the room to hide and my guy cousin witnessed the breakdown before I could get to the bathroom then when we were leaving his brother also came up to me about it. Ughh so frusterating. I think at Christmas im just going to wear a "no I'm not pregnant. Yes, we've been trying" sticker on my forehead.

Thanks ladies, just needed to vent. Everyone i know who has a kid or is currently pregnant got BFPs on their first try or it was an accident and they weren't even trying. I know 5 months is still early but its just so frustrating when i don't know a single person in real life that took this long. I know ONE cousin that took 3 months, everyone else (and i have a crap-ton of cousins) got pregnant immediately and they all talk to me like as soon as you start trying you'll get pregnant instantly. I wish i just knew someone in real life that took this long. ughh i'm just so bitter and i hate it. on that note, time for a glass of wine.

Cycle Day: 35
TTC Cycle #: 6
Ovulation and POAS dates: Not sure my Ovulation date as I have not been very good at tracking. My POAS day is any day now since I am on CD 35 but I didn't get a BFP with my first baby until CD 38 so I am waiting a few more days to test.
Baby #: 2
Your plan this month: If I am not pregnant now then I plan to start tracking better next month so I know when I ovulate.
And just for fun... what's on your holiday wish list this year (besides a BFP)? We are saving up to remodel our master bathroom so the wish list is pretty light this year. I would love some cozy new PJs.

Rambling overthinking that id like to run by you other TTC-ers!
So my cycles are generally 28 days (sometimes a touch shorter or longer.) I have PCOS so my O's have ways been my issue. When I got KU with my DD I O'd at CD18. I tested positive at the day of my missed period and was 8dpo.
This cycle I think based on ovulation pain and CM that I O'd early. Like CD11 early. Which is 12DPO if my O date is right. So I would indulge myself and test but I would not even be 4 weeks pregnant based on the start date of my cycle. I have never heard of anyone testing positive that early! Does that ever happen?
I'll probably just wait to test til my POAS date cause I'm cheap, LOL. Back to symptom spotting like a maniac!
nectarine / 2591 posts
@kjpugs: I don't think 12DPO is too early to test but I would probably wait incase you didn't O early and you might get a false neg.

@autumnlove: That's great that there are many aiming for 3! I just read a recent page, haven't kept up! My DS turns 3 in 2 weeks, and other DS is 12.5 mos. Very close to yours!
@kjpugs: Yeah, just restrain yourself if you can! Save the $!
@MissLace: I'm sorry, it is so hard when people keep bringing it up to you.

Hi all, I am new to this forum but have a question for any of you with experience with irregular cycles and how you pinpoint when you are ovulating. After going off the pill in June, my cycles were 32 days for two months, then 48 days (!) then 26 days and now I am on CD 35. It makes it hard to know when I ovulated. With my first baby, we conceived on the third cycle, and all my cycles were 32 days, and I think I was ovulating late in my cycle. I got a BFP on CD 38. Now I am trying to use OPKs but since my cycle has been irregular and some are long, I am flying through my stash at a rapid pace. And I have still not gotten a super positive line on any of my OPKs. Any advice would be really helpful. Thanks!

@pinkcrayon: hi!! I'm no help when it comes to irregular cycles like yours and OPKs...but have you tried temping?
pomelo / 5132 posts
@pinkcrayon: I would try temping next cycle. OPKs can only predict when you might ovulate based on your LH surge, whereas temping confirms it did happen. I've not had a lot of luck with OPKs, but temping, checking my cervix, and watching my CM has worked for me.
Edit: your cycles can be very unpredictable coming off the pill, so watching your fertility signs and temping can help you learn your cycle and your fertile days.

@Bea: thanks for checking on me! We thankfully had a full weekend that kept me occupied with other things.
Debating going ahead and testing Tuesday or just waiting the extra day to see what happens. A little cramping this weekend, but that's my only symptom if you can call it that! Pretty consistent with my first. Thanks to everyone for the feedback on sore nipples/breasts.
apricot / 375 posts
@pinkcrayon: I tend to agree with the other posters about temping, and also tracking other signs like CM. I personally like to chart them because it helps me track what is going on - especially since my cycles were longer the first two off BC.
Also - I use the Wondfo OPKs. I bought them during cycle 2 thinking I might need to use a lot of them. They are really inexpensive (I found them on amazon 50 OPKs and 20 HPTs for $20), so I don't mind using a lot them, and I think they are really easy to use.
When did you start using the OPKs? Maybe you missed your O date if you started later in your cycle?
I only suggest that because my first two cycles off BC were 39 and 46 days, so I was going to start OPKs later, but decided to start at CD10. Turns out, I ovulated "early" that cycle, and ended up with a 30 day cycle. This cycle, I also started earlier in the cycle with the OPKs and caught it earlier than my "average" because its skewed with those two looong cycles in there.

@MissLace: I'm sorry hon. I feel your pain. We've been getting the questions since C turned one. He'll be three in Feb, and we've been trying for almost 2 years now. I'm so tired of the innocently-intended, yet stinging questions. I'll wear the sticker with you. <hugs>
@yerpie110: congratulations, mama!! Those are awesome lines!
Welcome &
to the others who've joined us in the last few days. A lot to catch up on!
@pinkcrayon: I agree that temping would be a great idea for you, to confirm O, and CM to help with timing BD. I'm terrible at CM judging, though. I'm not sure I've ever seen EWCM...
I caved and used a FRER yesterday (10dpo, I think) and got a . I had a strong positive at 9dpo with C, so I think I'm probably going to roll over, but my symptoms are really strong, so we'll see; my actual test day isn't until Friday...

Thanks for all your advice on my irregular cycle. You've confirmed what i was already thinking - that is is time to start temping. I will next cycle if I am not pregnant this time. I was lazy about temping when we conceived our daughter and it didn't really matter since it only took 3 cycles. I thought it would be just as easy this time I just downloaded Ovia which seems really helpful. Last time I was using an excel spreadsheet!
I did cave and took a test this morning and got a BFN, but I am not considering myself out yet since there is no sign of AF and I could have ovulated as late as last week according to my CM. I will test again at the end of the week.
pomelo / 5607 posts
@kjpugs: I was 3w3d when I got my bfp last time. Would have been the same this time if I hadn't O'd late. (Got both bfp' sat 10dpo.) I know they say it's from the first day of your last period, but if you don't O on cd14 as that assumes, they usually like to know that since it changes your EDD. I consider myself 5 weeks today even though based on my last AF I'm closer to 6.
coffee bean / 26 posts
@mrs scrapbook: I forgot to mention that I started by OPKs on CD10 this cycle since my last cycle was only 26 days. I got a sort of positive on CD 23 but then another positive on CD 30. Is that even possible to get two positives so far apart in the month?
apricot / 375 posts
@pinkcrayon: I think you can have more than one. For example, you can have an LH surge, but not ovulate, so you can have a second surge for ovulation.
Edit: that sentence made no sense so I fixed it!

@Mrs. J: thanks! I was a little nervous when I said it...I couldn't remember where I'd read it. I'm glad you confirmed

@misslace ugh that is the worst, I'm sorry! I totally feel your pain. Right now just about every one of my dear friends who could be pregnant is KU (7 ladies) including 3 gals who didn't have to wait more than ONE cycle. HOWEVER... one took 11 months, another went thru IVF, another actually lost an infant to SIDS about 18 months ago... and I just had a heart-to-heart convo with a family friend who i just assumed was really fertile - nope, she took over a year with her first at age 37. Now has three little beauties.
It's really no one's business if you're trying or not. One day it'll be your turn to announce your happy news on your own terms. My usual answer is just "not yet" or "someday" and then change the subject and they usually get it. Be kind to yourself, each and every feeling you're having right now is a valid one, and there are oodles and oodles of women who are in your exact same position (and the VAST majority DO get pregnant!)
That same friend who i had the heart-to-heart with just happens to be an acupuncturist who specializes in fertility. Of the hundreds and hundreds of clients she's helped - maybe less than 1% didn't eventually get their baby. Stay positive. We're rooting for you.
pomelo / 5132 posts
@mrs scrapbook: that's exactly why you can't confirm O with OPKs...just predict it.

Hi ladies, I am new here... Have lurked for awhile and have decided to join in... I have found myself really down recently regarding the TTC journey (I know I am only 5 months in, which is nothing in the grand scheme of things). DH and I waited a while to TTC, and I now realize I was pretty naïve to think it would happen immediately (boy, was I mistaken). Although, for others in my life, it seems to Feeling kind of alone in this... Anyways, I am hoping that this community will be a source of encouragement. I enjoy reading the positive news, and at the same time it is reassuring to know there are others in my same place in the journey. Hopefully we will all get good news soon!!
Cycle Day: 12
TTC Cycle #: 5
Ovulation and POAS dates: O: ~ December 12, POAS: December 31 (Not one to do it early; like to avoid disappointment if possible...)
Baby #: #1
Your plan this month: BD every other day and every day around O... Eat healthy. Drink lots of water. Continue taking my supplements (prenatals, folic acid, etc.). Not into charting or temping or OPKs just yet. If nothing happens this cycle, will consider doing more of that next cycle.
Chart link:
And just for fun... what's on your holiday wish list this year (besides a BFP)? Nothing specific really... Would like to get a new bedding set for the master bedroom (for our new house)...
