I haven't joined one of these threads before but would like to start. I wasn't sure I'd be needing it because my period I was expecting at the end of December was a freaking week late and I had tons of pregnancy symptoms, but all the tests were negative and my period did unfortunately show up yesterday. So that puts my test date at the very end of the month, but hey, it's still January!
Estimated O Date: Jan 17th? Unless my cycle gets weird like last month - we took a break from ovulation tests last month, so I'm not positive when I ovulated.
POAS/AF date: I always end up testing early out of impatience, so realistically...Jan 29th?
Cycle #: 5
Chart link: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/wonderstruck (I just started using this, so I still need to go in and fill in my temps for the last couple of days.)
Trying new this cycle: Temping. We've been using ovulation tests but I really want to try temping too. I'm also about to start the 30 day shred to lost some weight since I still haven't lost enough from my son.
What are your New Year’s resolutions? DH said his New Year's resolution is to get me pregnant, haha. Mine are to exercise, be more consistent about filling out my budget spreadsheet, and to start going to bed at the same time as my DH instead of staying up way too late.

8DPO and I've been having mild heartburn which is not usual for me. Trying not to read too much into it, but trying to stay hopeful! I want to test early but I don't have any cheapies and I'm trying to hold out til my test date which is the day AF should be coming.

@FaithFertility: @Crystal:
Thank you! My son is 8 months old. Yes, I'm one of those crazy people who wants my kids super close in age (Partially a personal preference and partly because we can only afford for me to be a SAHM for a few more years.) We started TTC as soon as I started ovulating again, which was in September.
ETA: Oh, and my husband wants me to clarify that his actual wording was 'My resolution is to put a baby in you!' He's classy like that. Haha

@Boopers: it didnt start till later but heartburn was a HUGE pregnancy symptom for me. FX for you doll!

@wonderstruck: I agree with you me and DH want to have kiddos super close in age too...even with IF I still think it will happen, I have this feeling that once I get PG it will get my juices flowing....lo,
Your DH sounds a lot like mine.....lol

We had a fun night planned with friends tonight but it kind if turned onto a miserable evening. Two of the wives are very pregnant right now and everything was all about them (and I am super excited for both of them and they both had rocky roads to get there) but mid evening I went to the restroom only to find pretty heavy spotting. I came back and they are chatting baby hiccups and nurseries. I just felt so broken and left out, it was so hard not to just break down in tears. I realized that officially I won't be pregnant at the same time as my closest friends, at best we will be able to announce right after the last one has her baby.
My husband was trying to be sweet but he just doesn't get it, eventually he suggested that I go on a diet to see if that fixes my cycle. He fails to comprehend that even if that is a perfectly reasonable idea that his timing was quite off. This whole thing just stinks.
Thanks for listening to me vent, this process is just so hard and isolating.

@Cole: I'm so sorry being around others who are pregnant can be so tough. I have a few friends who are in their third tri and as hard as it is to be around them, I am happy for them. Your time will come!

New to "The Bee," and cannot believe I get to jump in here already!
Estimated O Date: January 17
POAS/AF date: January 31
Cycle #:1

Trying new this cycle: NOT using a condom
What are your New Year’s resolutions? This is a big question. I've been wanting to TTC for over a year, and hoped that by March/April 2014 hubs would finally be on board. He turned to me on January 1 and gave me the green light, so I'm rushing to read everything I can about making this happen-and quickly (ha ha, like I have any control over THAT)! I guess my resolution TTC-wise is to try and enjoy it as much as possible. There is so little I can control, that at this very early stage of the game, I know that it should be fun! FX that it works soon-ish .

@ChiCalGoBee: welcome! We have the same POAS date! Good luck to you my dear.

@MrsMccarthy: Thx!! You, too! I'm powering through TCoYF and looking through my 5 past months of cycles for insight.

@Cole: I'm so sorry, that sounds like a really bad night My DH's reflex I always to fix things or make them seem not as bad, but TTC is definitely a topic where that doesn't fly and I just want comfort.
I found out that my young not at all prepared cousin is pregnant (again) a day before my last period started. It was really really tough.

@Cole: I'm so sorry, friend. Virtual hugs being sent your way.
I'm going through the same thing with someone I know- it's so hard to be so happy and so sad at the same time.
@wonderstruck: ugh, that's the worst too.
my DH had the same resolution, lol.

@wonderstruck: hahaha! My DH says the same thing. Once after BD he put his ear to my belly and said "Hi baby. I know you're in there." I just laughed and didn't have the heart to tell him that fertilization wouldn't even happen until at least the next morning, if at all!
@ChiCalGoBee: Welcome!! And your "trying new this year" made me lol.
@Cole: That is so rough, I'm sorry My sister in law in pregnancy and due at the beginning on February. Awent to school with got pregnant with her 3rd without even trying, she's so crazy fertile. Another girl I went to school with announced her pregnancy with her brand new boyfriend. A girl we were training at work just suddenly stopped coming into work because she got pregnant and just didn't want to be a nurse anymore. People seem to be getting pregnant left and right, but they need to hit a little closer to home, if you ask me! Don't get me wrong, I am really happy for them (especially to meet my little niece!!) but DAMN.
On another note, we have failed at SMEP. We couldn't even do it right in the beginning. We started on CD 8 and missed our second attempt lol. Whatever, we got CD 11 and will try to do it EOD until CD 25 when I get my blood test.

@Mrs.Panda: Bahaha that totally sounds like something my DH would say!
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
@Mrs.Panda: that is so cute he talked to your belly after BD! I didn't know what SMEP was...I had to google it...I'm so clueless about TTC terminology. I always wondered when people tried to time BD if they aren't doing OPKs. I'm trying to make BD more of a priority this month so we BD CD 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15. I plan to keep trying to BD until CD 18...that's when my husband is traveling for work for a few days. If this cycle isn't successful I will have to try BD as early as CD 8.

@wonderstruck: @Crystal: @Mrs.Panda: sending big hugs to you ladies!

@Mrs.Panda: thanks! And yes, I had to include a little humor in there:-). I've been loosely charting (CM and cycle length) since August, so I'm hopeful to go into the first condom-free month with knowledge and a little luck:-). GL with SMEP!

@Cole: aww that just sounds like the worst! I hate being around pg women right now because Its just a constant remindee where as normally i might forget about it for a bit.

Morning TTC Bees!
What are your Sunday plans?
I'm about to make myself some hot chocolate and bacon (and try not to burn the geezus out of it like I usually do. I bake it in the oven.)
@wonderstruck: I have been thinking about you! Boo to AF. I was REALLY hoping for a BFP for you this cycle! It seemed so promising! Onwards to the next cycle!
@Cole: :: sigh :: What a rough night. How are you feeling today? Did a good night's sleep help? I think an hour with a good book in a bubble bath with a nice cup of tea could definitely take the edge off. Hey- Have you seen tension tamer by Celestial Seasonings? It's great- http://www.celestialseasonings.com/products/herbal-teas/tension-tamer
(I need to do some research and see if it's safe for pregnancy)
@ChiCalGoBee: WELCOME! I also have been waiting and preparing to TTC for a year. DH and I started trying last cycle. It was exciting- and not at all what I expected. LOL. I had no idea that phantom pregnancy symptoms were a thing!
AFM, Apparently DH thinks the only time I want to DTD is when I'm ovulating. Last night he kept asking, "Are you SURE you're not ovulating?" Not even close. CD5! I wouldn't mind more love making this month though, especially since we aren't charting or temping.

@Cole: Ugh, that sounds like my SAME story. I have my best friend who is 17weeks along, and my other friend who is in the process of ttc. I know my other friend who is ttc will become ku...because isnt that how it always is? I actually started seeing a therapist because this ttc/getting ku buisness has been absolutely CONSUMING my life. I have hit depression because it seems like EVERY ONE of my girlfriends are getting ku, except for me. Its heartbreaking to not be the one in there talking with them and being with them in these wonderful times. I was told to confront my best friend about it (the one who is prego) and for the longest time I have said no. I wont rain on her parade. Until finally, it just came out. Easy peasy! I told her I was seeing someone because I was just having a REALLY hard time with ttc and getting ku. My husband and I are dissapointed we cant be on the same journey as her and her husband but we are absolutely thrilled for them. She completely understood. There was no feelings of "please dont talk about being prego to me because i emotionally cannot handle it" but just an understanding of where I was coming from and how sensitive I am. I know it seems impossible to share your feelings like that, but I promise you...its usually easier done than said. Hang in there! I am feeling quite relieved and a lot less exhausted after seeing this therapist. Its helping me get through one day at a time

I drank last night! I know this sounds horrible when were ttc and 8dpo...but it was a friends bday, i have been ttc for 9mo and didnt drink during those 9mo....so i said "screw it" and had a couple LOVELY and DELICIOUS cocktails. No regrets. Cheers!

@newatthis: Until I see the line, Bring on the wine!
There are lots and lots of studies that show that drinking while TTC isn't harmful. The stress reducing benefits are probably really healthy, actually. All in moderation.
coffee bean / 36 posts
@littlek: Ha!
@holisticmama: I felt those benefits last night. Super relaxed and didnt feel bad for the prego next to me who had been staring at my delicious drink all night. We're all envious of someone
honeydew / 7463 posts
@ChiCalGoBee: welcome! I hope your stay is short and sweet
@newatthis: I also believe it's ok to enjoy an adult beverage while ttc! As @HolisticMama said, it's all about moderation. I don't get sloshed, but I'll sip a drink or two with friends! As soon as I get a bfp (I've had 2, both MC) I stop. My FET is on Weds so I plan on having a final glass of wine on Tues evening and then I wait
honeydew / 7463 posts
@Cole: I think we've all been there. I know it's how I've felt for the last year! Lol. Sorry you're feeling this way God bless your DH for trying but sometimes we just want them to acknowledge that it sucks and have a pity party with us.

I find a glass of wine very relaxing as well! I had a few drinks last night. Nothing crazy since I have an 18 month old tornado, I mean toddler who does not believe in sleeping past 7 am.

@SweetiePie: Oh- My fingers crossed for your FET! Have you had one before? I've known a number of people who have great success with that procedure!
