Thanks everyone for all of your kind words about my crummy night last night, as much as I hate to hear that so many of you have been there too it helps to know I am not as alone as I felt last night. Today is better, sleep helps a lot!
I am still pretty stressed about my ridiculous cycles. This is cycle four off birth control and the first cycle I started spotting at 8 dpo then the next two I took B6 and it quickly lengthened my luteal phase and pushed back the spotting, this month I didn't take it until after O and I am back to spotting at 8 dpo.
@newatthis: The therapist idea is a good one, I think if I can't shake my funk I will look into it. Thankfully so far it has been just a day or so of disappointment when I realize I am out for the month but I will be careful to watch for it turning to more. I am glad your friend was able to understand and be sensitive to your situation too. My closest pregnant friend knows we are trying and she had a long journey so she gets it and normally it is a non issue thankfully, last night was just crappy timing.
@HolisticMama: I will definitely look into that tea, I went on a big tea kick last year and I need to replenish my stock, thanks!
Today is a snow day here so we built a fire and the plan is coffee and hot chocolate while scrapbooking and watching movies so it should be a pretty good day. I made plans for later this week to go shopping with a new friend (who mercifully isn't pregnant) so I have something fun to look forward too. I think acupuncture might get thrown into the mix for next cycle as well.
Is anyone else snowed in either voluntarily or for real?

@Cole: Blahhhh to that evening.......I am so sorry! It is always something.....
I feel you and know you are not the only one feeling that way, or you are not a bad person for feeling that way as times I feel like a bad person for seeing another PG announcement or a friend talks about TTC as of it is soooo easy.......
Best of luck to you and we WILL get there!!!!!!!!

@newatthis: I can count on one hand the number of times I've been drunk...and of course, one of those times ended up being two days before getting my positive pregnancy test! My midwife wasn't concerned at all about it that early on, and it didn't cause any problems.
@Cole: I haven't looked outside, but we're supposed to get 8-9 inches outside. And we already got that much last week, and it hasn't gotten a chance to melt yet. So yes, snow day here!
@HolisticMama: Thanks...yeah, I thought it was really promising too! But I'm very hopeful that temping is going to help us.
We don't really have any plans for our Sunday. Definitely staying in since there's tons of snow. DH wants us to make a late breakfast, so I might use my new Mickey waffle iron I got for Christmas, sit down with a Disney movie, and pretend I'm in Florida instead of Michigan.

Just joined. Hello everyone
Estimated O Date: Dec. 27
POAS/AF date: Jan. 8
Cycle #: 3 (but only 2 for tracking
Trying new this cycle: Still trying to wrap my head around my cycle since I've only been off BC since mid-October, but I'm pretty sure I have an accurate O-date this time
What are your New Year’s resolutions? Get on a regular cleaning schedule, stay in the shape I'm in until I get pregnant, read more (after cleaning out my bookshelf I realized I have several books I haven't read yet - which doesn't happen for me.)
So, fingers crossed that everyone gets the results they're hoping for on their test day!

I am so behind! Thinking of everyone who saw a BFN or just got AF...it's definitely not fun. Fx for everyone still to test this month.
AFM, CD, 12 for me and DH is gone until Weds for work. Kinda bummed that we may miss the fertile window altogether but still hopeful that I will O later this week, as would be normal for me, pre m/c. We shall see!

Just jumping in as a cheerleader. Since I haven't started AF yet this month, there is no way I'm testing for this next cycle until February. Good luck everyone!

@Cole: at least you know the B6 helps. Crappy timing seems to go hand in hand with ttc. I sent a text to my friend saying i'd just been diagnosed with hormone problems and she sent me one saying she is pregnant (first try) at exactly the same time.
@fitz: welcome. I found once I started tracking, recognising O became pretty easy. Let's hope you don't get much practice though

I'm voluntarily snowed in. It's gorgeous out, but we only have a couple inches. I am trying to make sourdough bread (or any bread for that matter) for the first time today. Going to make a crab louie salad for lunch and then DH and I are going to head to a holiday party.
I'm not really in the socializing mood, but it's not very often that DH has social engagements that he's excited about- so off we go! There should be good wine involved.
@fitz: Welcome! What do you think your cleaning cycle will look like?
@bushelandapeck: Boo to the timing of DH's trip. I too am hopeful that timing will work out. Are you charting?
@Snowdrop: Ouch. Yucky timing. Was this recent?
pear / 1846 posts
@HolisticMama: it was two months ago, let me tell you it took a while to feel happy for this friend! We talked about it though and she said she couldn't believe how bad the timing was so it's all fine now but yeah... That sucked! How was the bread?
persimmon / 1167 posts
@Snowdrop: Dough is still rising. I've been feeding the sourdough starter all week though- and so far so good. :: shrugs ::
Adding more ferments into my diet was something I wanted to try to do for 2014.
I haven't been trying long, so I still feel pretty happy for all my friends that are pregnant. I have thought about being a doula someday and can't get enough information about pregnancy, labor, and birth into my head. I love it.
I think often about my friend who has been trying for over a year. They haven't done in testing yet (Her DH is dragging her feet). She was the last of us to get engaged (despite being with her honey for the longest...like...11 years before engagement) and now she is in the same boat TTC. I hope she gets pregnant before I do.

@bushelandapeck: oh man! I hope you do O late this month so you get a chance. If you are still nursing you could try addig a few sessions. seems like in my case extra nursing makes me O a bit later. Are you using OPKs or anything? I've also heard of a lot of people conceiving just after O because the egg can hang around.

@HolisticMama: if it turns out well I'd love the recipe. Really into cooking but never made bread. I was happy eventually but had a major case of 'it's not fair!!!' .

Risking TMI here (if there is such a thing on HB) but has anyone ever tracked cervical position. I have kind of checked when checking CM but honestly cannot make heads nor tails of it? I know the theory but it all seems a bit random to me.
grapefruit / 4770 posts
I don't know if I want to roll call this month or not. I posted on December, but I got so overwhelmed with the opks, scheduled sex, and feeling like something is wrong with my body. I told DH I just didn't want to try anymore. He is so supportive. I want to try, I'm just so afraid of the process. And I know it's only two months, so people may want to tell me to shut up, but it's still my journey, and it's how I feel. My heart goes out to those who have been trying for much longer than me. Anyways, it's cd 14, and we haven't had sex in three weeks. My o date is all over the place, so we may be out this month anyways. We will have sex when we feel like it, and I just haven't felt like it lol. I need to catch up on this thread. Good luck bees, I missed y'all!

@dc yoga bee: Welcome back! I totally get how you feel. We've been ttc for...15/16 months. But YOU can only relate to what you've experienced. So if you've been trying for 2 months, that's what you know! And that can be frustrating if in your mind you want it badly and hoped it would happen right away. I don't begrudge anyone who hasn't been trying for long As you said, it's your journey and it's just how you feel!
Hope you feel like BD'ing soon Sometimes I go through dry spells as well. I just have to be in the right mental space to do it!
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@Snowdrop: I have tried to feel for it a few times, but I honestly have no idea what I'm feeling for. I've looked at diagrams, but it still doesn't help.
The other day before my OBGYN appt I was all proud and thought I felt it, then the dr said at my appt he said it was up really high. I have no idea what I was feeling then, lol.

@Snowdrop: I've tried tracking cervical position, and I do NOT get it. It seems to change every time. I do think how recently I've pooed effects it, but it still seems totally random. Like now that I'm ku, I checked cause I was wondering what a pregnant cervix actually feels like (only once, since not supposed to do that when pregnant), and it felt the same to me. It's supposed to be higher and softer, but I didn't feel any difference.
@dc yoga bee: Lots of hugs. Your feelings are definitely just as valid as anyone's. Read somewhere recently that saying someone shouldn't be sad because there are people who are worse off is the same as saying you shouldn't be happy because there are people who are better off. Your feelings are real and ttc can be SO overwhelming. I think waiting till you feel like it again is definitely for the best. It should be fun! Hope you're able to take care of yourself and get to feeling more positive soon. (And good luck catching up on the thread, they go so fast!)

@SweetiePie: @Torchwood: thank you so much for the kind words! My DH hasn't even attempted to initiate these past three weeks. I feel bad, but love him so that he's just being supportive. I do want him to feel wanted for more than scheduled deposits of his sperm! Don't get me wrong we are completely ready, and want a lo of our own to raise quite badly. I just need to learn how not to get so worked up over opks and timing.
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@Torchwood: how are things going? Do the tests at the dr yet?
Thinking of you and wishing for lots of sticky baby dust your way!
eggplant / 11408 posts
@Snowdrop: I've seen threads on it before...and it's not TMI!!! I never did it, though.
@dc yoga bee: welcome back, pretty lady! I'm so sorry that you got stressed. This stuff is really, really hard, month 2 or not! Do what you feel comfortable with, and leave it at that. If OPKs stress you out, don't use them. If posting helps, great-if not, then we totally understand you needing a break. The one thing I learned about TTC is that I stressed myself about it so, so much that it started taking a toll on my marriage, and that's not how I wanted to bring a baby into this world. I hope that you can find something that works for you!

I have a question for those of you who do temping. I started temping for the first time about a week ago and I've been consistently surprised by how high my first-in-the-morning temps have been. Because they were so surprisingly high, I tried doing a few temps later in the day to compare. My first-in-the-morning temps have consistently been 0.7-0.9 degrees HIGHER than my temps a few hours later. Like, it seems that my temp is the highest that it gets all day first thing in the morning, whereas everything I've read says that's supposed to be your lowest temp of the day. Maybe I'm having stress dreams or something that is heating me up as I'm sleeping? (Would not be surprising.) Has this happened to anybody else?

@Crystal: I've been really sick with a nasty cold, so I haven't even called the doctor. Feeling better for the first time today though, so - should be calling this week. Decided not to get betas though. I feel SO good about this pregnancy, it just doesn't seem worth the stress. If I had tested positive for any issues I might, but I'm perfectly healthy and apparently just unlucky, so I'm treating this like a normal, healthy pregnancy. They didn't do any extra testing with my first, so I don't need it this time. Thanks!

@Torchwood: that's good to hear! I'm sure this will be happy and smooth sailing. Here's to hoping to join you on the other side soon!
pomelo / 5607 posts
@Crystal: Fingers crossed and lots of positive thoughts and baby dust to you! (And everyone on the this thread!)
honeydew / 7295 posts
@Snowdrop: never TMI. From what over read cervical position is something you have to do a few months to recognize your own pattern and only works for some. Personally I consider it the least informative of the signs but in conjunction with others it can be nice.
I'm a stress mess over here. My period was really short. Only 2 days of full on bleeding. I spotted starting it out and spotted ending for a total of about 4 days. I'm not sure what's going on but I can't be pregnant because the heaviness of the two days was ridiculous. I always have heavy periods but usually they last a bit longer and this one started 6 days early too. Anyway it's hard not to feel nervous that my body is off this month. I sure hope we have a shot.
My husband and I are also fighting a lot right now. He is so disrespectful and I am so naggy and irritable lately. It's not fun.
pear / 1846 posts
@dc yoga bee: if this helps, we had a lot of BD issues in the early months (well apart from N1 as that was honeymoon month). It gets better.
@pawprints: I find my temps drop during the day too. I think it's because I talk too much Just ignor those. Also if you brush your teeth that brings em WAY down!
Wow thanks for all the CP responses. Glad i'm not the only one. I'm pretty sure mine has no pattern whatsoever!
pomelo / 5720 posts
@MrsMccarthy: thanks lady. I am using opk's so hopefully I'll at least be able to tell if/when so we can time it better going forward. Sorry to hear you and your DH are fighting a lot. I feel like that's our typical communication style and it definitely sucks. Hugs.
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@MrsMccarthy: :hugs: I'm so sorry you're fighting! That's always hard. Have you guys had a date night in awhile? Sometimes when DH and I are fighting it's Because we haven't had any good couple-y time lately.
You just recently got off bc, right? Maybe that's why your cycles are so wonky.
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@PawPrints: are you doing mouth or internal temping?
Maybe try internal?
pomegranate / 3791 posts
@PawPrints: I also just started temping, but are you taking your temp orally or vaginally? Sorry if that's TMI, I've just heard that it does make a difference.
I usually throw the blankets off myself for a few minutes before taking my temp since sometimes I get super hot under there.
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@MrsMccarthy: I'm sorry you are going through a rough patch.
@dc yoga bee: you have to do what is right for you, if that means taking a break or not
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@PawPrints: I think as long as you do it the sand time every day, you'll be fine. You should still show a temp spike, right?
pear / 1846 posts
@PawPrints: as long as there is a regular pattern it doesn't matter what the actual temps are, although low pre O might indicate hypothyroidism
pomegranate / 3658 posts
@Crystal: @Snowdrop: Yeah that is sort of what I've been trying to tell myself, so hopefully it will spike this week. It's more that I'm thinking, it's already so high that how could it possibly spike up much higher?? (This morning's temp was 98.7!) But we'll see what happens in the next few days.
pear / 1846 posts
@PawPrints: that is high but you still have plenty of room before it would be fever high as it doesn't need to rise by that much. I really wouldn't worry, plus your thermometer might just be calibrated slightly high.
