@Crystal: I took B6 for about 6 cycles when I was TTC DD. It never changed my O date.

@Snowdrop: @littlek: I didn't track CM this time around, but maybe I will have to! I agree, my temps are crazy this cycle! It probably didn't help that I didn't temp for a week, but I was sick, so those temps would have been high anyway. I think I'll just try to ignore it all and start fresh next cycle and actually check CM next time!

I only have 1 month to go on but the B complex seemed to move my O from CD 21 to CD 18. It seems to work differently in everyone though or could be coincidental. @Adira: definitely track CM and use OPKs. You might just have to Dtd three times a week this month to cover your bases because you won't have data till after a month or two of charting but could still get lucky. I've been charting for a few cycles. That's how I knew my cycle had changed a lot.
CD 6 today. Zzzzzzzzzzz......

@Adira: when I temper, apart from predicting AF the day she was coming it told me nothing that cm and opks couldn't, plus cm and opks actually give you warning!
@scepta: @littlek: like @mrsmccarthy: said I think it will work differently on everyone depending on what their hormones are doing in the first place. It should lengthen my LP too if it really is lowering prolactin as that would raise my progesterone. People rave about EPO but it does nothing for me as I am oestrogen dominant (this is what having access to medical journals does to you, major over research)!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MrsMccarthy: @Snowdrop: Yes, when we were TTC before, I temped and charted CM. CM was very helpful, but I never actually got EWCM, which is how I knew to use pre-seed. This cycle, I was hoping I could just temp to find out when I ovulate (we're not technically TTC yet - still NTNP), but I had no idea my temps would be all over the place like this! I guess I can't rely on temps to find out when I ovulate as reliably as I was able to before!! Oh well - you learn something new everyday!

@Adira: How long are you planning on bfing? CM might be your best bet for tracking right now, or maybe OPKs?
Still no appearance or symptoms of TOM. Womp womp.
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@Snowdrop: I did the other day (last Friday), and I only have one digital test left. I am going to pick up some cheapies to try later this week.
I am still well within the normal range of expecting my first TOM, but its odd to not have any of my regular PMS symptoms. On the other hand, I don't have any KU symptoms either.
Any recommendation on cheap brands?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Crystal: I'm hoping to breastfeed until Xander's 1, but I may continue morning nursing sessions until I dry up, haha. And I've never used OPKs, but maybe next cycle I'll see how CM is and if that doesn't work, it'll be time to break out the OPKs and learn how to use them! Although maybe by then, Xander will be 1 and we'll have weaned and it won't even matter.

@Crystal: I know it's not necessarily what you want to hear (I'm still crossing my fingers for a bfp!), but my pms symptoms changed after my m/c. Not completely, but they weren't nearly as strong, especially for the first one. I really had no idea when AF was coming until it showed. It also took me almost exactly 5 weeks both times, which is actually on the short end. I thought it might take less the second time, since I was only 5 weeks that time instead of 9.5, but they were the same.

@Adira: I've never used them either, but I hope to try next month!
How old if your wonderful baby? And I have always always always loved that name- its my Number 1 boy name. Is that his actual name, or is it Alexander?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@littlek: @Crystal: Oh oh oh! TOM = Time of the month?? Thanks for the clarification!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Crystal: Xander's 10 months!! And his real name is Alexander - Xander's a nickname.

@Crystal: I have the one step tests from amazon, got some with my cheapie opks
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@Crystal: and @Adira: You've never used OPKs?!?! Wow. OPKs are my sanity. Once you start (and here's to hoping you never have to!), though, don't be afraid to play around with your method. Although the instructions will swear there is a certain way you *must* test, I have actually found that OPKs work differently for different people.

@Torchwood: Thanks for sharing your experience! That actually really helps, the wait is driving me insane.
What were your symptoms like before your BFP? Were they the same or different each time?
@littlek: @Adira: Yep! Time of the Month.
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@septca: Do you mean time of day or how to use them?
And, be honest, how essential is it that you pee in a cup first? I want to try just doing it directly on them, since it shouldn't be any different than POAS, right?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@septca: Well, I was really lucky pre-baby and had a very regular cycle, so CM and temping were all I needed! And after 3 months of doing that, I pretty much knew exactly when I would ovulate! But apparently that's not going to work this time around, haha.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3938 posts
@Crystal: I love OPKs! I totally don't pee in a cup. I don't even know how that would work. I just pee directly onto the stick. I do it at any time of the day. I suppose doing it every 24 hours will help you catch the peak and whatnot. I just try to hold my pee for a couple of hours before I test.

@Crystal: I waited 6 weeks after my mc to get AF and the week prior I would have sworn on my life I was pregnant again. It took about 2 more cycles for my hormones to even out and understand my new pms symptoms! You should test just in case though, bec you never know. I used wondfo's and bought them on amazon super cheap. Hope you get some kind of resolution soon the wait sucks
kiwi / 693 posts
@littlek: thanks for asking! But no real update, I'm still in limbo-land at CD30, waiting to see if AF is going to arrive or if by some miracle I will actually ovulate on my own this month, super super late (definitely didn't ovulate earlier this month and definitely not pregnant because my temps have stayed very low). I'm trying to hold it for another hour or so until I use another OPK, but here is this morning's with SMU. Darker than yesterday's but still not quite positive. It is kind of driving me crazy.
pear / 1846 posts
@Sprite: what time did you take one yesterday? Is it possible it peaked last night and is on the way down? Either that or I bet your nex one is positive!
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@Adira: I walled you. =)
@cmbknyc: I really don't think I am pregnant, (THOUGH THAT WOULD BE AMAZING!). I just want TOM to makes its appearance so I can move on and try again. The wait is so annoying! Thank you for the well wishes!
@septca: My cycles have been very regular post-BC. I vaguely looked at CM, and it was usually spot on with day 14, so I guess I got lucky before my BFP? I am ready for a sticky baby, though, so I am moving to OPKs to give myself the best chance and because who knows that my post-MC body will be like.
@Sprite: FX it happens soon!
How many times a day do you all use OPKs? Would testing once a day be worth it?
kiwi / 693 posts
@Snowdrop: The one I posted yesterday was at about 3pm-ish, and I took another one at 7pm that looked about the same. The one from this morning was taken around 10am and seemed darker than both yesterday, so I guess I'll just wait and see if the next one looks darker or not. It's a good point about possibly the surge already happened, since in the past I've had a really short surge and had to use OPKs 3x a day to catch it. And if it already happened that would be better, since DH is going out of town tomorrow for four days!
@Crystal: thanks friend!
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@Crystal: I totally get where you are coming from. I usually get two patches of EWCM, so I really rely on OPKs to avoid the fake-out the first patch gives me.
I usually test once a day, with FMU. I know you are not "supposed to" use FMU, but I drink *a lot* of water, so that is the only time I can get a + OPK. I just know that a + with FMU means that my surge actually started the day before and adjust my chart accordingly (FF assumes you test in the afternoon). You *can* keep testing after a +, but it's likely to confuse you more - you should ) within 12-36 hours of getting your first + (I usually O the day of the + because I use FMU).
I do use cups, but lots of women don't. Pre-DD I would O on CD17 or 18, so I started testing at CD15. Now I am all over the place, so I start at about CD13-14 and keep testing until I get a +.
kiwi / 693 posts
@Crystal: Yes, sometimes OPKs are more stress than reassurance, at least for me. But I can't quit them! And I usually start using them on CD10 and do them until I get a + and then do one or two more to see the line fading before I stop. I only start doing them multiple times a day when I know the line is getting dark and I'm close to surging. I buy 50 packs in bulk, haha!
@Snowdrop: Yes ma'am Thank goodness we've hit the past three nights in a row too.

I may or may not have taken an opk yesterday and today, and I may or may not have gotten my positive smiley today at cd 16! I hadn't looked at my chart all month, and I realized we had sex on O-3! I text DH a picture of my smiley, and asked him if he still wanted to try this month, and he said of course! So, we will bd today which I o-1, and the next two nights!

@dc yoga bee: Sounds like perfect timing- Good Luck!
@Sprite: woohoo! Get it, girl! FX for this month being your month!
I just put the big pack of OPKs and 20 HPTs in my amazon cart, lol.
I am going to try the SMEP this next month, which I think has OPKs starting Day 10.

@Snowdrop: Have you considered dopa muca?
http://www.amazon.com/Foods-Mucuna-Support-L-Dopa-Vcaps/dp/B001QG5F0W
I think OPKs would stress me out to no end. LOL. I want the TTC process to feel as natural as I can make it. We'll see how that works out for us...Waiting Game. Waiting Game. CD7. Slow. Slow. Slow.

@MrsMcD: do you use those? How do you like them? Do they give you enough of an opportunity to know when to time BD, or do you just do it anticipation?
