Crap! The Internet says this is a category C drug... Think I'm ok? I'm 5 weeks... A bit worried. Just wasn't thinking when I took it!!!

Not sure..! Would call your OB and ask? I'm thinking 1 pill isn't going to hurt.

I wouldn't worry too much about taking it once. You could call your OB and ask just to get some re-assurance.

Hmm, I'd call your OB or consulting nurse line to ask? You could also try calling Poison Control and asking them.

I agree that one dose is very unlikely to cause an issue. But just call your doc and let her know for piece of mind. Also, if you have heartburn take tums... They are fine in pregnancy.

I took Prilosec regularly during pregnancy at the advice of my midwife (I had terrible reflux!) I think you'll be ok!

Agreed, I wouldn't worry, but if you can sleep over it, call a health nurse to be sure.

@MamaMoose: I actually didn't need it!! I was getting it for my husband and just randomly took it with my prenatal a without thinking, instead if handing it to him!! Doh!!

@nodakiddo: haha I do things like that too. I like to say the baby ate my brain : ) I also wanted to add that LOTS of people don't even know they are pregnant at 5 weeks and are doing all kinds of non pregnancy friendly things. My good friend got wasted one night and later found out she was about 6 weeks pregnant at the time (she got preg her first cycle off BC and thought her cycle was just taking a long time to come back). She now has a perfect 2month old.

Prilosec wasn't on my doctor's list of approved meds but then he surprised me by telling me I could take it if nothing else worked for heartburn -- and he's a very, very cautious doctor!

I did a lot of stuff before i knew i was pregnant, oops! i wouldn't worry too much about it, but i'd move the prilosec to another cabinet. I did that once i knew i got pregnant, so i didn't accidentally take advil. it's just habit sometimes!
PS i totally had a bunch of gin at a wedding before i knew. Oh well!

@blackbird: You know it's funny. I had beer like 6 hours before I got my BFP, and I'm not worried about that at all. Yet I worried about one antacid tablet. Weird brain.
