I'm slowly thinking about buying some baby stuff...eventually. (I'm not quite 18 weeks.) My sister-in-law swears by her A&A things: burp bibs, swaddle blankets, etc., but she's also someone who likes brand name things. My sister hates the A&A stuff, and thinks it's not as nice as other brands, for a lot more money. My sister tends to shun brand name things. So I guess I see both of their preferences as really biased. Is this brand really so much better (and worth the price) than anything else out there? Are there other (less expensive) brands that do just as well...or better?

My LO isn't here yet, but I've heard that their muslin swaddling blankets are worth every penny. We have 8 of them already. We also have an A&A crib sheet and it is the softest thing ever! I want to put it on my pillowcase

I LOVE our A+A blankets. We seriously used them every single day for the first 4 months of her life and even still use them frequently. They are super soft, a great size and they just keep getting softer. I think they're worth every penny.
As for the other stuff, we skipped it.

We have registered for an received some A+A blankets because I've heard how wonderful they are. But I probably won't be buying any of their other products.

We have 8 a+a blankets and I just bought a sleepsack off babysteals.com. Everything is great quality and worth the price but I tend to be a brand name girl too.

I made DH go out and buy A + A blankets the day we got home from the hospital... They are the best swaddle blankets ever. I don't buy name brand stuff usually.. so this was a stretch for us but so worth it.

I use a+a swaddling blankets...I haven't seen a comparable non-branded item that is the same quality. The big thing is the size. A lot of blankets are too small to get a good swaddle.also, the material is thin and breathable and also easier to wrap and tuck securely. I have a 6 wk old, have 8 of them, and use them daily. I don't have anything else in the brand though. I dont really see the benefit of the burp bibs, etc.

i love the a+a blankets. they are great for the summer since they're light, breathable, and roll up small in your diaper bag. i've used it as a swaddle, sunshade, blanket, nursing cover........ my mom even wore olive on her back with it, and olive fell asleep! even my mom thinks they're the best baby blankets ever.
definitely worth it. not the burp cloths though -- they're pricey. i like gerber prefold cloth diapers for burp cloths instead. cheap and awesome.

I love love love the AA swaddle blankets. I think they are worth every penny. We used them for everything.
Cobi was born in winter, and we would quarter fold it to cover him in his carseat and it was warm enough. But it's also cool enough in the summer because they are light weight. Fits great in diaper bag, I've used it as a spit up cloth (they're so absorbent), nursing cover etc.
We still use them everyday even though DS is 6.5 months. Our dr said he can sleep with a light blanket, and that's what he sleeps with. Also, now that he is so much more into his world, we cover his head with it while he's in the baby carrier to get him to fall asleep. I wouldn't do that with any other blanket, but these are so breathable.
I saw tutorials on how to make your own swaddle blankets... but I have yet to find ANY fabric as soft as the A&A.
I haven't used their other products but I would love to try their sheet.
Like others said, the burp cloths are a little $$. I would have bought the bath towel and washcloth too if I hadn't received a different one as a gift.

I like the blankets okay, but we only used them for swaddling for a couple of weeks... by that time LO escaped everything except the Miracle Blanket. They're nice to have around, but we could use any blanket for the purposes they serve now.

We have their bamboo swaddle blankets and love them - they are great for summer babies! I also have some blankets from nordstrom (swaddle blankets) that are a very soft, light flannel which are just as nice for a little bit colder weather, and are as soft as the A&A blankets.
The bibs I saw at target were scratchy and expensive and I don't think muslin would work as well for a bib (LO is messy with her formula, and it seems like it would soak thru muslin in about a millisecond)

The burpy bibs are amaaaazing. We have a big spitter and she uses them a lot. We always have one around her neck like a bib. We also use them as burp rags. I like the blankets, too but only used them as swaddle a handful of times.

I have an 8 day old and I can say we are already getting more a&a blankets!! And we have 6--they are by far the best! The other blankets are far inferior, ha! I just bought 4 more.

We love the sleepsacks! I had a faulty one (my second purchase) and within the day they had mailed me a replacement without even me providing a proof of purchase or their requiring the return. I stitched it up myself and now I have three for the price of one.

I love the A&A blankets (make sure you get the 47x47 ones, not the smaller target version). I wish I had gotten the burpy bibs when Sawyer was a newborn, now they wouldn't be as useful though.

We have used the blankets all of LOs life. Now that he is getting bigger and the weather is getting colder, it may be time to switch to something warmer, but they were great for the summer. I was gifted 4 and that was plenty for us. I was also gifted two burp bibs and really like them. They are the best shape to stay over your shoulder and don't fall off.

Ooh! I didn't know until now that the Target version is smaller. I gifted those to my cousin last year since ALL the moms in my city seem to be super OBSESSED with the A&A blankets! They are seriously the softest things ever and I've been waiting to get some ever since we've been TTC. Now I want to register for the crib sheet too!

The swaddle blankets are absolutely worth it! We only had two because I found them at a consignment store for $2 each. I wish I had bought more of them. They were perfect for swaddling!
We also have an A+A sleepsack but I am not impressed with it. We've only had it for a few months and it has several tears at the shoulders.

I have three sleepsacks, the most recent one is all shredded at the shoulders, I am sure because of my son standing up while wearing them and the fabric tearing.
I am really disappointed, but since the muslin is so thin and the stitching isn't reinforced, I am not surprised. All three of my sleepsacks are regular A and A, so that's no the issue.

Love A and A stuff - ESP the burp cloths an bobs. They are big and absorbent and soft. By far better than others. Love the swaddle blanekets too - even if you don't use for swaddling they are great lightweight blankets to have.

@mediagirl: I fully agree. In fact, that has been the only thing A&A that I'm really happy with. I own like 10. But I also have a reflux baby and deal with a lot of spit up, so these things are a god send. I buy them for everyone now.
