I have read a lot recently about coloring being a good stress reliever for adults. There are quite a few adult coloring books on Amazon with really pretty designs. I was thinking about ordering a couple to take with me to the beach when we go for vacation in a few weeks because they sound relaxing and fun.
What do you think about adult coloring books?

Hahah I LOVE coloring. I actually own a Disney princess coloring book. And one of my friends bought me an adult activity book and it's so fun! I also have an anatomy and physiology coloring book because I'm a nerd.

Coloring is definitely a stress reliever! I think that sounds like a great idea for vacation!

Yes! I love colouring! A coworker noticed me doodling during a workshop and bought me this:

I coloured a lot during my pregnancy to help keep my mind off of some of the anxiety I felt, especially during the first trimester.

I have the secret garden one and finished a floral one a while back. I love that adult colouring is taking off! DD1 and I color together and it's so nice.

Adult coloring book!?! I love it! Do you just use regular crayola colored pencils? I bet this would be great to relive stress. I used to be an avid reader, but even thinking about reading stresses me out as another task to do these days lol.

I love to doodle but I haven't found an adult book that I love, so I just bought a few Disney books that I tear pages out of and stash in my everyday notebook for times when I want to doodle and color. It's definitely a great way to zone out for a few minutes (or longer, if there's time)

I ordered the Secret Garden one from @tinyperson's link about a month ago and am still waiting on it. Just got an email from the author saying that the demand has far outpaced production, so I'm guessing lots of adults are getting into coloring these days!

@dc yoga bee: Colored pencils would work well because some of the designs are pretty detailed. I think some people also use colored gel pens. Crayons would work on the larger designs.

@dc yoga bee: I like to use felt tip pens, because the colours are more vivid. In the book I have, the pages are quite thick so the ink doesn't bleed. Coloured pencils would be my next choice!

Whoa. I can't believe I'm the only one who finds coloring super tedious. I HATE coloring. I want it to be over but I also want it to be perfect so I just find it stressful trying to do it both quickly and correctly.

I love getting mandala coloring books (I also like ones with Celtic knot designs), they tend to be very elaborate but still geometric and symmetrical, and I love them. I usually use high quality colored pencils to color and find it super relaxing and meditative.

@SugarplumsMom: I have a nice set of artists pencil crayons (prismacolor) that DH bought me one christmas (on sale at Michaels). I also have an older set of my mom's prismacolors that I use, but really, any pencil crayons will do.

It's even more expensive on AmazonUK.
But you ladies helped a ton because it directed me to a cheaper alternative. I think I'll give these Staedtler Ergosoft and Triplus Colour 323 a whirl! Woohoo! I'm excited!

This was one of the activities we did during my bachelorette party sleepover! We colored until 3 am. It was awesome!

@tinyperson: my SIL gave me that for Christmas with some colored pencils. I started in a page but haven't finished one. It's definitely a stress reliever.
