I love this and am totally going to target to snatch some of these books!
Two questions:
-are the books located in the section w kids coloring?
- what have you found works best for pencils/markers?
Thinking this may make a great gift for creative friends!!

@littleredhairedgrl: thanks! That was my first one in that book, but I'm excited to color more and see others' take on them!
@Mrs D: I found mine at Target on an end cap in the book section (with the paperbacks, not the kids coloring supplies).

@Mrs D: I got enchanted forest on Amazon but just noticed they have secret garden at my Target on the end cap by adult books. I much prefer markers but I always have!

I just got my grandma the enchanted garden book and some pencils for her birthday. These books are gorgeous and have sooooo many pages! I cannot wait to give it to her - I know she is going to love it!
Plus I can't wait to get one for myself soon!!

@Mrs D: aww what a sweet gift! I know I was so shocked how many pages these books have.

I coloured five pages today (finished two I was working on and started/finished another 3) and holy my hand hurts so bad when I try to uncurl it.
I am old.
(ETA: it was a super rainy day, LO1 is at his dad's for the weekend & the baby napped nearly all day long.)

@Bao: well 2 were almost done & I cheaped out on the 3rd by colouring it all in like 5 colours.
The last two killed though. My poor hand

After reading this thread I decided to finally take the plunge - I've been thinking of trying it for a whole for stress relief.
I did this using target generic pencils and a very old colouring book textbook on marine biology from when DH was homeschooled .

Dh picked this one out for me to color. Working on shading seamlessly.

So...I gave my grandma the book this morning and she LOVED it. Of course my mother did too...so...time to order Mom one.
Can you comment on your favorite one that is Cities/Architectural? I got my grandma secret garden - I plan to get my mom Enchanted Forest and a City one - then the 3 of us agreed to share/rotate our books!
Also - any comments on favorite pencils?

@farawayyama: I love that you used an old text book. Great idea and nice colouring!
@Bao: Mine was $15! wtf. haha Damn US/CAN exchange rate. I am so seriously excited to get it!!!!
@Mrs D: My favourite pencils are Prismacolor. Crayola does a fine job too though.

@.twist.: geeze!! Well I got some off for my discount but it only brought it to $10. Even at $15 though that's worth it, it's provided so many hours of entertainment for me!

@abbydabbydoodlebug: I've been lurking on this board and just got caught up with all the recent pictures people have posted. I'm obsessed with your fox! Your shading is so great and I LOVE the color scheme. I have the same book and I'm struggling with picking just the right mix of colors.
I never would have tried coloring if it wasn't for this page- it really does help with stress! Everyone's pictures are so inspiring.

I really need to take pictures of what I've completed. You guys are so talented! I really struggle with choosing what colors to use, so I feel like my pictures come out looking silly.

@Bao: Gorgeous! I love the bold colors and how you did the blue water.
I really want to start this but we're on a spending freeze right now while we save for Christmas! Boo.
