@swurlygurl: that's beautiful!
@swurlygurl: yes, I'm definitely going to frame some for my daughters room. I'm really excited to see what they look like framed.

I forced myself to stick with a color theme on these last two pages. I think they're better.

@2farmmoms: I love them! I think I'll try a color theme next. I've been doing a lot of pages that have a lot going on, so it makes it hard.

I've been doing these while my DD draws and colors so I don't just surf my phone the whole time, and now all she wants to do is "help" mommy color on my adult coloring books! Haha, so mine are a combination of normal coloring plus scribbles.
Do you all manage to keep it away from inquisitive toddlers or am I just being too permissive?

I'd love to get markers, the colors seem so much more vibrant! But do they not bleed through the pages?
pineapple / 12802 posts
@2farmmoms: Very beautiful! I love them!
@gracecat: The pages are quite thick and markers don't bleed (from what I've heard).
Also, I will let L look through the pages of my colouring book, but he has his own books to colour and I try to re-direct him there. I think it's ok to let him know that mom doesn't need to share every thing. That could just be me though.

@gracecat: my Staedtlers don't bleed through!
LO knows it's my coloring book, I don't think it's unfair to ask her not to use it. I even keep it out on the table and she knows not to color in it. I did get LO her own cheap pens to color with though, she loves that.

For all my fellow nerds, I present to you, the holy grails of colouring books:

@MrsKoala: I may need to start a colouring book fund so I can afford them all. I won't be able to keep up with how slow I am. It's really creating a lot of conflicting feelings for me!

I've been wanting to try one of these for a while, and saw this at Marshall's. I looked it up, and it just came out. Sweet! Hopefully, I can join in. What colored pencils do you all like?
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@dc yoga bee: I like the Staedtler pens, maybe the colored pencils are good as well!

For my birthday I got secret garden and one about a little girl exploring San Fransisco. It's taking me forever to complete a page because I have to do it in 10 minute bursts, but I love it!

@.twist.: Omg outlander and hp and got and lotr.... Whyyy so many good ones?! I should stop looking at this thread, too tempting.

@dc yoga bee: I just use regular Crayola colored pencils (I've got a 50 color set).

My first coloring post! Can you see the areas where I had a little "help" from my DD toddler? She LOVES coloring mummy's coloring book and I can't resist, she will work on it with me so seriously. It's how I decide which page to start, she has chosen for me by scribble coloring on a new page. Haha, I don't have the heart to shut her down.

@Bao: Thank you so much! Shading has made a huge difference in how it turns out. Question though, if you use markers can you still achieve that effect? I would think the colors would be quite saturated, or do you ever do color pencil on top of marker for shading? Definitely contemplating getting Staedtler markers that you use.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@gracecat: I've never tried shading, so yeah it just looks like my photos above, bold but no shading.
pineapple / 12802 posts
@Bao: Yes! It's real but they haven't listed a release date yet! Also, beautiful pages! I Love that you do the full pages, I really need to finish a full spread, it just takes me so damn long.
@gracecat: So pretty! Love that your daughter helped. Super cute.
@Synchronicity: but... but... you should get one!!

@swurlygurl: Beautiful! Don't you just love the prismacolours? Aren't they so smooth and soft? Blending is like a dream. AND YES HP!
@sorrycharlie: Love it!

This thread has inspired me, I'm going to buy a set of pencils and book for myself, and if I like it I think I'm going to do the same for Christmas presents for my hard to buy mom, sister and aunt!
I don't have time to go back through this whole thread, so can a few people just let me know your favorite book and pencils? Thanks so much!

@HappyBaker: markers & pencils: staedler & crayola pencil crayons.
I really like Secret garden & enchanted forest & whatever the one gracecat posted from (tropical something? Animal world? Anybody? Bueller?)
Fantastic cities is another great one to look at but far too intimidating for me
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@HappyBaker: enchanted forest! That's the one I have and Sorrycharlies. Super excited for lost ocean by the same artist!
