So if I want to try out colored pencils then Prismacolor are the ones I should go with?

@Bao: I love Prismacolor so much I still have a set from when I was a little girl! Too bad they are buried somewhere in storage. Highly recommend. Nothing since has come close.

@Bao: can you try and find a big art center that lets you try out the pencils and markers? That might be the best way to make sure you get what you want.

I ordered a couple during labor knowing I might need them as therapy after. The book the fish was in came free with a pack of markers. I like pencils better for the more intricate ones though. I just wish the spine opened more flat in secret garden...
My mom and sister are now hooked after staying with me too. I think my sister really needed it.

@MaryM: yay! Very nice! I like coloring pencils too for shading but I don't like the brand I bought. But I like how bold the colors are with markets.
Anyone use water color pencils? With or without water? Curious how that would work!

I just ordered the Enchanted Forest and some prismacolor pencil crayons! I also bought some markers with a coupon at Michaels as well. I wasn't sure what I wanted so I bought both markers and pencil crayons.
DH and I received some extra money so we decided we'd buy ourselves a treat. It should be here by Thursday! I can't wait!

I haven't been able to color for a while too! Hopefully tonight will be nice and quiet. Last night I was up till 11 putting DD to bed. After that I just drowned myself in chocolate then went to bed. Let's see what everyone is working on!!! Post pix plz!

i just got mine. i think it will be good for my anxiety, but the real reason i got it is i want to learn more about color theory!

@Bao: I am working on Animal Kingdom too! I sent it as a gift to my mom (guarantee she hasn't touched it) and my professional artist aunt, who loves it. Finally got some time in last night to finish off one of the pages. Did you get your color pencils yet? There's such a sense of satisfaction from starting a new page, choosing your color scheme and sharpening those color pencils. I need more excitement in my life I know... But it's fun!

I need help choosing markers - I went to Michaels in Canada and a 20 pack of Staedtler were $44! (Yikes!) I'm headed to Michigan shopping next week - where do I go and what do I want? I've only ever used pencil crayons and I want to branch out

@Ginger333: the Staedtler markers are SO pricy here (I'm in Ontario), BUT- if you download the Michaels app, there are 50% off any one regular price item coupons every week. So, that $44 pack of markers is only $22 (only...ha!)
