@gentlelunette: @PurplePeony: I haven't done a pattern one yet so maybe that's why I haven't experienced that yet!

I've been wanting to try adult coloring books for a while but haven't taken the plunge just yet, but everyone's pics are making me want to!

I've been stalking this thread since the beginning... My mom gifted me some markers & nice pencils, but I only have pattern coloring books... I think I need some of these ones you guys are using!

Okay, here is one of mine -- right now, I only have a book of mandalas (can't find my William Morris one, I don't know where I put it ). They're not my favorite so I need to get a new book soon, but it keeps me occupied for now...
ETA: sorry for the crummy photo, it was dark out and the overhead light caused the shadow and glare.

@PurplePeony: I think it looks great and even if you don't like the coloring, I think your shading is great!

@MamaG: this is actually one I do like! I haven't finished most of the ones I'm on the fence about or decided I dislike.

@Bao: I am almost done one page. I feel like it's taken me forever, but I'm super happy with the results. I'll probably be able to post it tonight!
LOVE the addition of newly completed pages!

@simplyfelicity: that's a great Christmas gift! Hopefully they love it as much as we all seem to. Haha.

I just ordered the Forest and Garden ones and a set of watercolor pencils! Im super excited for them to get here.
I really want the Cities one. I love the cityscape of London thats in there.

@loveisstrange: awesome!! What exactly are watercolor pencils anyway?
pineapple / 12526 posts
@Bao: Haha, I ordered after I saw you post on Facebook about it. Watercolor pencils apparently can be wet and spread like watercolor paints. Ive never used them, but Im excited to experiment.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@loveisstrange: definitely let me know what you think, I may try them!

Wow - this looks like so much fun, but I'm not creative at all. I think my 3 yr old would do better at the designs than me LOL
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@BabyBoecksMom: you don't have to be creative! That's the thing, just throw colors down. At least that's what I do

@starlitsky: No, but it looks pretty! Very Rifle Paper Co-esque from the cover. I wish Amazon showed more pages!

@loveisstrange: I'm really interested to hear your thoughts/review of the water colour pencils! Those sound wonderful!
clementine / 795 posts
@badgermom yes! I love Rifle Paper Co so this one caught my eye! Plus I feel like I want to start with simpler designs before moving on to more complicated patterns. I might order it and give it a try.
@bao @loveisstrange I've used watercolor pencils before, years ago! They are really nice, you color with the pencils first and then go over with a wet brush to achieve the watercolor effect. However, if the paper you're using isn't thick, it might buckle from the moisture.

I ordered staedler markers & then went away for our anniversary trip - and now they're sitting in my mailbox at home waiting! (They were supposed to be delivered on Friday).
Is it sad I can't wait to get home and start using them?
