There's a woman that lived near us that had my son's name! Every time I heard a story about her, I'd be confused for a little while. She moved away though, so now my son is the only one with his name once again!
My daughter's name is more rare and I've never met an adult that has the name!

Several! They both have popular adult names although LO1's nick name is more contemporary than most of the adults.

DD's name can be a standalone name or a nickname for a more formal name. I know one adult with the formal version.

Yes- DD1 shares her name with 3 grownup friends and her little BFF has almost the same name (one letter difference and the same middle name!). DD2 has almost the exact same name as a mom friend of mine also. Oh

My mom has a distant cousin that I never met who has the same name as M. It's actually where I got it from, I'd hear stories about her when I was a kid and the name always struck me. Never met anyone else with the name though.

I think I've met two adults with his name since he was born- one was a salesperson for a company my company used to work with and the other gave me a flu shot one year. No one that we see regularly!

yes I know several with both DS and DD's name.
One of the reasons I loved/picked DS's name is that the 3 people I knew with that name - 1 in High school and 2 after college were just amazing and kind people

When I was in labor, my nurse's name was Gwendolyn. She said she had never delivered a baby with her name! Other than that, it's usually people telling us it's their mother or aunt's name. Its peak popularity was in the 50's.
As for my son, I have yet to meet an adult Lyle.

i know of an adult Scout! i was so excited when i was talking to her husband (before DD2 was born) and i actually told him that his wife's name was our number 1 choice (even though we didn't really tell anyone else before she was born!).

I haven't met anyone. It seems to be really uncommon. When people ask his name they seem really surprised when I say it lol. I think it's because me and DH are super county. And the only person who has DS name that I've seen is an older British actor.
